Vijy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Bawne certainly can. Bit of a Chanders-like player and usually plays at 5 for Mah. Vihari on the other hand, if selected, should play at 3 - his natural position. Can bowl a bit too, as mentioned.

I'll take note of their performances in domestic performances. :nice:
Vijy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Interesting. I'll take note of their performances in domestic performances. :nice: Of course, there are plenty of other good candidates as people have noted. Jadhav had an amazing domestic season last time, Tiwary's been doing well for a long time (and Badri for an even longer time). Then, there's the likes of Pandey and Nair from Kar too. Amongst the teenagers, Iyer is doing well as is Tanmay Agarwal. I don't think we'll have trouble with our batsmen. The issue is bowlers, a top 6 keeper and allrounders.
Vijy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 How about Zol? Zol, Baba, Juneja, etc are all completely out of form, to varying degrees. However, this does not mean they are ruled out forever; might recover form eventually and become serious contenders.
Mindreader Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Uthappa will debut in tests in july if he continues his good form...can be good no 6...even pujara slot is open to grab
kaptaan Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 VVS Laxman @VVSLaxman281 · Dec 29 Talking of youngsters good 2 see vihari performing consistently for Hyderabad. It's gr8 2 see him translate his talent into performance.
bowl_out Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 .6 th spot is still up for grab.... Rohit Sharma?
bowl_out Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 If anything, they'll try out whoever is most consistent this Ranji season
Vijy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 If anything' date=' they'll try out whoever is most consistent this Ranji season[/quote'] Should also take previous 1-2 seasons into account because there are always 1 season wonders. Vihari and Bawne should be frontrunners.
diga Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Naman Ojha probably? next one will be a wkt keeper
MCcricket Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Kedar JADHAV is. A. Serious. Talent. And shoul . Be. Given. A go he has the abilityy to. Channgge the game
Vijy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 ^ Would have liked to see Jadhav get longer run in ODIs - his record is extremely good there.
tweaker Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I think selector should look groom a allrounder for the no 6 spot, maybe Rishi Dhawan,Parveez Rasool,Karn Sharma
gakgupta Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Uthappa will debut in tests in july if he continues his good form...can be good no 6...even pujara slot is open to grab "Pujara's slot is open"...For Christ sake........You should be kidding me..... he is total class and proper test material .... He will come back strongly and have long long future... Remember .... when he gets runs, he will get them huge
rajmarie Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 No batsman. 5 batsman are enough. We need a 5th bowler.
tweaker Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 India should really consider devloping 6 & 7 batting position for a wk batsman & bowling allrounder
Vijy Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 That would be ideal, but given the paucity of bowlers a solid No. 6 (who can bowl a bit) is more pragmatic.
gazza Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Samson another prospect but not having the best season.
