Number Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 In ODIs captaincy is not as important as it is in tests. You come with a set a game plan and stick to that formula more often than not. There is very little scope of improvisation. Anyways' date=' this world cup should be his last tournament as captain.[/quote'] From my feeling in tests you still have time to correct your mistakes and recover from them but in ODIs one poor decision can cost you the game as it doesn't give much time. In ODIs the cost associated with the decisions is much higher.
Number Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Dhoni hasnt been in the best of form in ODIs ' date=' I can think of 2-3 ocassions in recent times where he got out at wrong time after getting a start ..not the msd we know . Hopefully he will peak at the right time . We will struggle even if one of Raina , Virat and Dhoni has a bad WC[/quote'] Agree.Peaking at the right time is much more important. You need to win just 3 matches to win the whole thing. I don't think we played very good cricket in 2011 WC still won it.
jhakati Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Dhoni's pathetic captaincy is bringing the whole team down just like it did in the Tests. We need Kohli's energy. With Dhoni as captain expect a quick exit from the WC.
jhakati Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Time for Dhobi to be kicked out of the team, or the World Cup will be 1 big disaster!

Everyone in our team is to blame almost equally. No point in calling out Dhoni specifically.

Dhoni as a cricketer is way past his date, and his negativity is bringing down the whole team. With Dhoni, we will be struggle to even get past the 1st round in the WC.
nitinbwj Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I believe Kohli is intentionally under performing with Dhoni at helm..

We didn't do well in any of the tests. Our bowling was horrid in all 4 and in the last 2 tests Rohit/Rahul just got lucky. That has nothing to do with the captain. You have to understand that cricket isn't just a game about passion, being positive etc. At the end of the day, it comes down to your skill. So the captain having a positive attitude isn't going to help much. And in some cases, an overly optimistic view (e.g. "we're going to chase it down" in the first test) can lead to losses by itself. I know you are just trolling but will still dignify a reply The damage done by Dhoni is NOT going to be undone in 2 tests. The team was definitely more positive in the 2 tests Kohli captained, there is no doubt about it. And isn't part of building a talent pool captain's job? Dhoni had all the freedom to do this for years. Instead he filled the team with his CSK cronies. Whatever fast bowling talent we had was killed by defensive and negative captaincy. I am very hopeful Kohli will realize this and know the importance of fast bowling. So yeah, a different captain is indeed going to bring a sea change. but Kohli would at least need 1 year for it GoldenSun 1

Dhoni was a defensive captain in situations which needed it. Trying to chase a score ~400 on the last day isn't refreshingly aggressive, it is stupid. Also, I thought Dhoni had only a small impact on team selection. Maybe you should blame the selectors for filling the team with undeserving CSK members (of which there is only one in my opinion, Raina - the others (e.g. Vijay) are pretty deserving).
jhakati Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 This moron Dhobi is going to embarrass us in the WC. No way to drop him and kick his @ss back to India before it's too late?
sachin34357 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 dhoni will retire from ODIs after this World Cup then T20Is after next years T20 world cup
bulbul Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 This moron Dhobi is going to embarrass us in the WC. No way to drop him and kick his @ss back to India before it's too late? You have 2 targets I guess Dhoni & Umesh :cantstop:
jhakati Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 iam a dhoni fan but msd needs to go after wc So hold on, you agree Dhoni needs to go after the WC, but you want him to stay for the WC so we are embarrassed in THE most premier event? Just drop him as captain TODAY.
NameGoesHere Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Last wc was a career peak, this one will end it, IMO.

jalebi_bhai Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 He has been mentally AWOL since God knows when. Team looks lost because its leader and most experienced player is lost.
