It should have been made an year ago to give people time to adjust to the new site. The number of clicks would have certainly reduced or at the best the growth rate slowed down, at a time it is supposed to surge, because most people wouldn't know where the stuff they like is.

Sounds like cricinfo is trying to get more clicks from users by completely confusing the user and getting him lost.

Users will get lost and leave, and they would find other sites they are used to and not come back frequently enough during the world cup.
sensible-indian Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Cricinfo has switched over to native ads. The suggested articles from Outbrain you see below the regular articles are ads. They still do banners but like many other sites, they are slowly switching over to native ads which is fast turning out to be the most effective way for sites to generate revenue. Lots of people generally don't click ads that are like ads. But they will click ads that are presented in the form of informative articles.

zen Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I am not saying that changes are necessarily bad but it was not wise to make them just prior to a big tourney. Many fans only follow big tourneys and check scores for other tourneys once in a while so Cricinfo should ideally have made changes a few month ago to avoid surprises Anyways, http://www.icc-cricket.com/cricket-world-cup/ is decent :nice:
Donal Cozzie Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I didnt like it at first, and I still think everything is far too big meaning you need to scroll down too much massive pictures to get what you want, but its not as bad as I thought. Nowhere near as good as the original, but not awful either. Just make the photos and main stories half as big and it should be alright
