Bose realized this (may be even faked his death) and went to Russia hoping that he would get support there. However, he was captured there and eventually killed by Stalin (or coz of implementation of Stalin's policies). Ind govt made no efforts to have him released despite knowing that Bose was held in Russian prison (Siberia?) This subject interests many Indians. I might read the book which was suggested on this thread :nice:

I don't think what happened in 1940s would tarnish the present Congress. The current Congress (or any other party) will suffer for what it does in the present One possible reason that the docs are not revealed could be may be it involves Gandhi :dontknow: PS IMO, the original Congress does not exist. Since the 1970s, iirc, different parties have branched out from it which changed the nature of the original party. The current Congress is more like Congress - I (Indira)
