I don't have one in the US, but my parents have it in India. My main takeaways: 1. It's really expensive. I researched a few before buying one for my parents, and anything less than $300 is flaky either in size or quality. With import duties, I am expecting the cost to go up to Rs. 25,000+ in India. These numbers are 2-3 years old so prices might have come down. 2. The food quality is okay - nothing like the real thing. It's good in a family where people love their fried stuff, but also want to control for oil, and are not extremely sensitive about taste. Don't get me wrong - the taste is still decent. If you are able to cook something 9/10, you should be able to get 6-7/10 with it. 3. Where it completely fails is if you are having people over. It's simply too tasteless, time consuming, and not worth the cost as an assistant in making pakoras.
Thanks Swetabh ....We don't eat much fried stuff....only daughter loves finger fries and stuff. The Philips air dryer is around 10,000 rs.I make fairly good baked wedges ...so this may not be used much.

Thanks Detonator bhai! The ice cream turned out really good.:two_thumbs_up:Hubby and kiddo thank you.:icflove: Made basic vanilla...followed by coffee flavor. Waiting for mangoes to hit the market. Do you have a recipe for veg version? I tried substituting yolks with custard powder ...but it doesn't quite taste like ice cream...still tastes good though. Thanks once again.

:two_thumbs_up: Custard powder is not veg i guess :hmmm: for veg, my sister told to use soya milk cream (mildly heat soya milk with lemon juice, use maple sauce if you want it caramelized). Plain veg ice creams doesn't taste good, so I recommend you to heavily flavor it. my fav is dark chocolate. since you are living in mumbai, you can use mahabhaleshwar strawberry.

I think there is something called Vibrations that it reached till my house from ICF. I won't mind gifiting this to her now so that we can eat lot of junk Indian food this world cup :)

Here is my suggestion * Oil isnt that bad, its the things you fry. If you eat chips once a month then its ok to fry but remember that its Aloo thats harmful more than the oil. * Look for grilling option to avoid oil. You can grill anything that you fry (except poori :D ). Whether its chips or nuggets or fish, you can grill it all.
