7 ounces of Marijuana death penalty in Malaysia. Obama talks about legalizing it due to its medical benefits. These Asian countries have to revisit their drug laws. REcently UAE imposed ban on poppy seeds that Indian women use for cooking. One Indian guy was caught and he is not able to pay for lawyers is rotting in prison.

Why so?? They broke their law. And they paid for it. I only feel for their families.

Indonesia might be putting itself in a diplomatic tangle...but cant believe people are defending ****ing heroin dealers not weed peddlers...they knew the puniahment..they took the risk to destroy countless lives and families and they deserve what they got...its a different matter whether capital punishment should be there or not but a bunch of scumbags making profit out of other peoples misery deserves no pardon..when the law is very clear in that country..and remorse or activuties in jail to get out of death sentence are just deliberate ploys to gain meecy when other legal avenues are closed...good job indonesia for standing firm and rejecting demands which are unjustified....

Mohammed Asif should have been jailed for years for carrying stuff in Dubai. But he was let off after Pakistan requested its fellow Muslim country.

Many people die in these south asian countries due to drugs every year so people do die because of smuggled drugs. They have laws against it and all these people were adults. They have paid for it with their lives but from Indonesia's point of view, should they let go of Aussie drug smugglers but not Indonesians, what face will the leaders show to their own people? There is Michelle Corby who was sentenced for 10-12 years and there was huge reaction in Australia but few years later so many things came out which showed that its very likely that she knowingly carried drugs. I feel for their families but dont expect countries to change laws because the criminals are from a developed country.

^ people die cos of alcohol, tobacco, unclean bottled water and so on. Indonesian government needs to think. If these people were shot dead because of the crime, Or were they shot because government wanted to send a signal? Also western society doesnt brings up its kids teaching that drug trafficing is crime punishable by death.

Oh right. So you are now making this a Muslim issue. America executes criminals regularly...is that ok then?

Shocked that ppl are having sympathy for these ppl here
I guess you didn't follow the case fully. 10 years back they caught them . They reduced death sentence of one guy to 20 year in prison in between. These 2 have done tremendous service inside the prison. They have gone great lengths in rehabilitating themselves and changing lives of others. Whole idea of prison should be about rehabilitation. Atleast in most cases. These two were carrying drug out of Indonesia. So all the more reason your country is not going to be affected as per widows's claim. At 21 you never make a mistake? They were just asking the sentence to be reduced to life as they were never going to be harmful to anyone. This barbaric way of executing won't be the solution.

I'm just showing you mirror on such issues. He was let off because he was a muslim and PCB requested the ruling family. America has got nothing to do with this.
