Trundler27 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Kane Williamson is such an unorthodox player and every shot he plays just looks like it is delayed to the very last moment. His ability to bat on and his late execution (especially of back foot shots) is similar to Hashim Amla. What do folks on this forum think about this comparison? Williamson Vs Amla
fineleg Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Williamson talented and sort of proven. Amla - totally proven, a legend already.
sourab10forever Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Thread title is inspired by Fifty shades of gray. And yes even I felt that he is similar to amla. Not in technique. But in terms of approach to a situation and their career timeline is similar too. And the drive is similar.

Cricketics Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 More like shades of Bevan to me. Class player. Will go onto become NZ's best bat. Actually one of the bat in the world and thus will revive NZ test cricket along with their bowlers. NZ will achieve more success in test cricket overseas from here on in the next decade than what they have uptill now in test cricket. NZ always produced good batsman. They finally have a great batsman which is needed to bs a top test side.
coffee_rules Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Has Amla reported that his shades are missing?
Sachin=GOD Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Has Amla reported that his shades are missing? :haha:
MK55 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Looked at ease against Starc and Cummins. Very reliable like Amla. No real weaknesses. Has a solid temperament. That last ball 6 today to Cummins under pressure was something.
HippoSucks Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Amla is more proven. That's obvious because Amla has played double the Test/ODI matches as Williamson.
Number Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Won't count on Amla to last long against the rampaging bowling like Kane did yesterday. Williamson is more compact both technically and mentally.
Guest rishijeet Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Williamson will be next LAXMAN , very very special in test cricket.yesterday he was so calm vs. excellent captaincy of clark.
sourab10forever Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Sourab - you think Amla isnt? Yap...his performance in the big stage has proved it. He is a great player but cant rank him a legend.
