Everybody has some weakness. What about Dale Steyn? Supposed to be a greatest fast bowler of modern era. He couldn't keep the old man Vettori at one end. Not only that bottled it by bowling a wide full toss conceding a 4. After the test series he looks burnt out not really stepping up the way he is supposed to. He did well in T20 final, CT final.

Yup he just does not look the same kohli after test series. Didn't do well even in tri series. Not the usual Dominant kohli that you would see even in the matches he clicked. Probably he was close to burning out after 4 over seas series in a row.

Agreed. We played 3 high pressure games this WC - Pak, SA and Aus - and Kohli performed in 2 of them. He didn't carry on against SA but he did help lay a solid foundation for us getting to 300. Plus when we take into account his WT20 and CT 2013 performances, he has proven himself to be a pretty good player in high pressure games.

Australia exploited his weakness outside off perfectly. They did not bowl a single delivery to his body, everything was on the 5th/6th stump line. He needs to work on his square cut. Some of those balls were perfectly set up for that, yet he could not cash in and eventually played a poor release shot.

IMO it was pressure of chasing 328 that made him play that shot. If the total had been around 300 he would've taken some more time but in that scenario he had to get a move on soon enough.

Kohli knew the problem, but did not rectify it for SF.

Bottomline is it is not about not being able to handle pressure. Amla who does not have distinct weakness except may be against short ball fails to turn up. May be it is a south african team thingy.
