Even Vivian Richards said Kohli is one of the greatest odi batsmen. Was just comparing the records. Even strike rates are same(89) Looking forward to who will end up with highest runs and centuries. Inflates stats cos he opens . Does not have more than 2 gears , unless playing IRE or Ned offcourse .

Sid Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I remember a well set Amla couldnt get a run against chuckmal in the penultimate over of the game ,which I thought was the mother of all chokes :hysterical:.He is a just an accumulator ,not a match winner.Against mediocre attacks he never misses the oppurtunity to make merry and score big. To his credit after Ricky Ponting,he has been anointed Pak fans new adopted son. :punter:

putrevus Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Kohli as a total batsman (tests and Odis) is way behind Amla. ABDV gets lot of props rightly so but what Amla is doing is sensational. Amla has become this unassuming run machine which keeps producing runs, it does not matter where the match(test , odi) is played this guy can score runs the same cannot said about Kohli yet. Kohli is the best chaser in history of odis that is one thing he has over Amla.
veer Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Personally.. i think Amla isn't a good batsman to watch.. the way he plays his shots isnt eye pleasing. The very first thing he does is covers his stumps at the point of delievery and then plays his shots. ugly to watch it.

Kohli might be slightly better at chasing but overall ABDV is much better. As for Amla bhai, I would take Kohli any day over him.
