Could not step up against big teams. Failed against Aus,Pak and WI in WC with more misery to come. Dhoni should drop Rohit, open with Rahane and swap Rahanes place with Rayudu. Rayudu also in good form in the last warm up match he played. Alternately Dhoni can open with Binny in place of Rohit. So you get an extra bowler also if things go wrong with one of pacers in knock out.Binny can also get early swing if conditions help him.

I know I will be scoffed at by the ICFers ,but Rohit is a dangerous ODI batsman.He is a FTB no doubt,but you cant drop him as he is one of our crucial batsman in ODI cricket at the moment.

You hate or or like him, you can't just drop him now. I personally do not feel comfortable with the batting line up if I replace Rohit with Rayudu. I think most would feel the same. Yes, we see lot of inconsistency, but Rohit still has done better than most expected of him as opener, and this is definitely best he has ever played in his whole career. You look around, not many openers are consistent and Rohit actually has been more consistent then some of them. Everyone is predicting a freak show from him this world cup. I am too. I hope it happens soon. But he definitely can not be dropped now. We can probably try Rayudu against Ireland now or Zim since we already got 8 points, but I feel Rohit is needed for Playoffs.

Opening with Dhoni is the most ridiculous idea I have heard recently. He definitely should come a few spots higher as he is an outstanding batsman, but opening is too big of a jump. With Dhawan losing his form , its imperative that the other opener contributes in knock outs and it loks like Rohit wont based on what he did till now in league matches. So just because Rohit has failed a few games in Australia (do not count the Triseries matches because practically everyone failed in that series) he should be dropped? 3 matches (the UAE match was very low scoring) is not a long enough time to determine if any batsman is out of form or not suited for these conditions. How is Dhawan losing form? He underperformed in one match and now he is out of form... You said "Dhoni can open with Binny"...

Perth is a very difficult wicket even in-form batsmen found it hard to acclimatize to. Rohit played a poor percentage shot driving on the up before getting his eye in. But our cupboard is bare, there's no worthy replacements. Just hope that Rohit will strike form soon. He did score a good 100 against Australia in the tri-series, so he's got the goods, he just has to deliver.
