PBN Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 At which number is cricket in terms of popularity amongst other sports in Australia? I was checking for some highlights online, and rugby seemed atleast 3-4 times more popular
Desi Cartman Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 There are not as many people in Australian cities like Hobart and Adelaide. Plus it was a weekday, expensive tickets and this was probably 10th game at the oval this season. Plus footy is back and people follow that more passionately than cricket
Cricketics Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I was there yesterday.. The crowd was passionless and it made the viewing boring' date='a compete opposite of the Indian games. Cricket deserves better. I don't think places like this should get the bigger tournaments, the Aussies don't seem to want it.[/quote'] 2020 is great for australia though. Big bash is hetting crowds. I think aus/nz hosting 2020 wc will be great.
lebron_fan Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Its India' date=' even if we're playing PNG, it'll be filled up...[/quote'] Even more impressive is the fact that Indians fills out stadiums even when the game is not in India :giggle:

Number Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Clarke has requested fans through Twitter to fill up the stadium in the semi finals. Sent from my MI 3W using Tapatalk pretty sure he has more Indian followers. so we know who will fill the stadium.B->
BlueBee Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 pretty sure he has more Indian followers. so we know who will fill the stadium.B-> :cantstop:
don_corleone840 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Not surprising .cricket is losing its popularity in Australia nd England. Although its popularity has increased in New Zealand looking at crowds.
India-KXIP fan Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 this world cup happens once every 4 years and its been played in aus after 23 years! your not talking about an everyday event. There should be no complaints from Clarke for eg if Indians outnumber Aussies at the SCG. Seems like a good chance they will. It's LOI cricket at the end of the day....how can it ever be as important? Not surprised by how they feel about it In LOI's weaker team can be better over one day and win. Though WC is not so meaningless, only strong team can win so many successive games. Border Gavaskar >>> WC still. Still no one brings up SRT's runs and McGrath's WC wickets when comparing greats :cantstop: Maybe Bevan is the one player remembered for ODI's. Overall bit meaningless.
