In general, most of my friends/ cowerkers all have given up hope against the Aussies.:finger: I mean, they are a team of glorified sloggers and hacks without a single full time spinner. Be positive guys, we can win this. Warner/ Finch/ Maxy are all hacks. Clarke is a walking wicket. I only rater Faulkner and Smith. Haddin/ Starc/ Watto are not in form tbh. We need just two of our guys to stand up to Starc and Johnson (looks down this WC). WC SF pitch is 99.99% going to be a batting track. If anything, it will spin a bit (even spun during SL v SA). I just can't imagine a lineup of in form Dhawan/ Sharma/ Raina, overdue Kohli/ Rahane/ Dhoni to capitulate againt this current OZ bowling attack. If we bat first, 90-10 in India's favour. Chasing, we might struggle a bit. I would say 50-50. :((

For both teams The thing is, unlike when we had Gambhir-Yuvi-Raina-Dhoni combo, this current team is not a very good chaser. Our bowling needs to perform well above their normal to restrict the Aussies below 275 and hope atleast one of our batters score big. Batting first, we are a different team altogether. Even in that doomed tri-series, we scored 270 against Starc and co. Expect us to easily score 290-300 on the SCG pitch. If that happens, our bowlers can maintain line/ length and choke the chasing team with RRR pressure. Happened with the best (ABD/Amla) so we can very well repeat against the Aussie hacks, especially Warner, Finch and Maxi. Main concern is Smith and Watson.

Thalaiva Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Hmm I think everyone knows that aussies are a better team than India anyday but with several conspiracy theories floating around that of India have already been given a spot in the final by the ICC, I wouldn't be surprised if India beat Australia on 26th.. ICC's revenue shoots up upto 10 times more for a Match in which India is involved. That must be very tempting
