He generally performed in the KO stages of WCs. Even if he wasn't the top scorer, he never bottled up in any game(barring the 2 WC finals). These boys have a long long way to go before they are even mentioned in the same line as him. LEt's not put added pressure on them by tagging them as next Sachin or next Dravid.

Rahane, he has improved as an ODI player. One thing is he can handle pressure. He's still learning and would be there eventually. As for Rohit, he has shown great signs. Only English bowlers can do that consistently and we have seen him stuggling against them badly. Even bowlers like Vaas would have been handful against him with the kind of flaw he has in his technique. I really do hope he sorts it out though.

But Rahane can hardly be the culprit here. He cam in when we lost 2 wickets and then Rohit and Raina suddenly got out as well. He had 2 routes to take, either save wickets and try and be there till the end or hit out. With Dhoni around we know what route would have been taken. He's a bit confused IMO in his ODI game play. He either wants to be the aggressor or a complete blocker. And the sad part is , he has the game to manouvre the field and is an extremely quick runner. He did that even today during the middle overs and you could see he could churn out the runs pretty easily. His dismissal was a nothing shot actually. With a slip standing what are the odds of surviving a late cut? Has been out thrice in this WC which is something he needs to work upon.. But overall, he has the bases covered to improve and I am sure he would.

As much as he was great in the Test series, the Ozzies were not disciplined enough to exploit the weakness he has around his offstump. And by the way this is the first time I have heard someone blaming Test Cricket for lack of performace in other formats. I have always heard the opposite :hmmm:

He was confused. Stupid team management wanted him to be an anchor but he is an enforcer. He was not playing his natural game throughout the tournament which led to an addled brain today.

lulz :hysterical: This post is so nonsensical I dont know where to start.He wasnt at his best throughtout the tournament,looked scratchy and yeah the shot he played today to get out was definitely becoming of a anchor. Instead of making ridiculous theories fans should accept the fact he wasnt up to the mark and standards he has set for himself in the ODIs.
