diga Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 CID has released their names — Md Salim Sheikh (who allegedly raped the 71-year-old nun), Habib, Babu, Fakir, Farooq, Manik, Tuhin and Nazoor. Investigators have matched the names to the CCTV pictures and sketches with the help of the two women. They are all from Jessore in Bangladesh. Sources say Indian law enforcement is in touch with their Bangladeshi counterparts. The interrogation of Salim and Gopal has yielded details of how the crime was planned and executed and how the criminals escaped. CID says Gopal, who worked as a mason after crossing over from Bangladesh in 2002, was hired by the sisters to do some construction at the Ranaghat convent. That is when he surveyed the compound and started plotting the crime, say investigators. On Saturday, CID said that a suspect, Milon Sheikh, who was believed to be part of the gang, was actually the ringleader. He is on the run. All the robbers frequently visited India, often illegally, and Manik and Nazoor had come thrice in recent months. They had last come on March 6 and left on March 10, before returning on March 12 for the Ranaghat convent robbery, says CID. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/CID-names-all-suspects-in-Ranaghat-case/articleshow/46731604.cms?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=TOIIndiaNews
