I know Pujara is a much better batsman than Dhawan or Rohit, but in this situation where pitch is flat and bowling is not better than club level and rain we need to score fast to give our bowlers ample time to get 20 wickets. Dhawan and Rohit will score faster than Pujara. This is what situation demands. If it was a green or turning pitch against a potent attack and Pujara would have been dropped for Rohit or Dhawan then that would have been a travesty.

How many has Rohit and Dhawan despite getting so many chances in Home and Away tests? Need to support real deals for Test cricket. These two are proven HTBs and hacks abroad. Pujara could have come back to form on these Home tests and he has a better chance of succeeding Away (based on his performance in SA recently). Stupid Process ...that is what Kohli is following. Watching Rohit in SA.Aus again will kill Test cricket for India. No wonder we are languishing in the bottom until recently.

As you yourself said, if it was a turning pitch, Pujara would get selected. We don't pick players based on pitch, but hope the picks play on all pitches. There is more likely hood of Pujara getting better in away conditions than these two hacks,
