My name is Aasiya Noreen Bibi. I am a ‘nothing’ as they say here. A simple countrywoman from Ittan Wali, a miniscule Punjabi village, in the centre of Pakistan. And yet, today, the whole world knows me. The whole world knows that I am Asia Bibi. photo_asia.jpg In prison, day and night is the same. My dying is slow. My tears are my only companions in the cell. I see no more than the prison bars, the wet ground and the walls blackened by filth. An odour of grease, sweat and urine pervades everything. It is the smell of death and of despair. After the newspaper reports, 10 million Pakistanis are ready to kill me by their own hands. Locked up, followed around and enchained for years, banished from the world to await my death. Though my tiny cell is without a window, I want my voice and my anger however to be heard. I want the whole world to know that I will be hung by the neck for having helped my neighbour. I, Asia Bibi, am condemned to die because I was thirsty. I am a prisoner because I used the same glass as some Muslim women. Water served by a Christian woman is considered impure by these fellow field workers. From this prison squalor, I want everyone to hear my small voice denouncing this injustice and this barbarity." -From Asia Bibi's book, 'Blasphemy' Asia Bibi is the first and only woman to be condemned to death in Pakistan this century. Many of the prisoners accused of blasphemy don’t have time to be judged, because they are killed in their cell before their trial takes place. 'People do not like you here. They would want you dead. Salman Taseer’s assassin was his body guard. He brought him down. Now he is a hero throughout Pakistan. We also are like your body guards, if you see what I mean.' said Khalil, prison warden." https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-Asia-Bibi-Petition/154908417886823

Any country where governments support the majority and form laws favoring majority will always go this way. Thankfully India realized this long ago

And we went the other way, making laws favoring the minorities which does not lead to much good either.

Any country which has laws favoring the worlds most "peaceful" religion will go this way.Hopefully India should realize this soon.

This is a fact not a shameless comment. Indians have no right to cry foul of treatment of minorities in Pakistan when in India the conditions of minorities are even worse.

Atleast she is not being tied around a pole ' date=' slapped and thrashed and forced to day jai shri ram.[/quote'] Moronic post. She is going to executed or worse may be killed by one of the jail inmates , for some alleged stupid incident, something that most probably was made up by low lives who hate non Muslims. Salman Taseer(respect to that man) was murdered by his bodyguard for taking up her case, who in turn is a rockstar in Pakistan. Millions of your countrymen are baying for her blood, her husband and 2 children are forced to live in fear every day. All minorities are being systematically wiped out from your country. Mumtaz Qadri the killer of Taseer being garlanded by Pakistan awaam 2nghsmr.jpg The lawyer who kissed him is now a judge in Islamabad High Court 2lmlzyw.jpg Shame on your country, shame on Pakistanis, most intolerant bigots walking on this planet.

yes , she is only going to be murdered by the State for the crime of being thirsty. Try to understand this : Nobody will ever be sentenced to death in India for the victimless crime of "Blasphemy ". This woman is going to die because a few muslims were Butthurt.

Unfortunate situation. But Indians are in no position to moan at Pakistan. They are hardly any better. Members of this forum are a perfect example of that. Both countries have to improve in this regard.

Pakistan's primary problem is not majoritarian laws. As harsh as this may sound, the very basis of Pakistan's creation is the problem. The greed of Muslim League leaders and the faulty two nation theory.
