But suddenly from the second ODI he is switching between his remodelled action and a variant of his old action. The ball that got bowled Mahmudullah was very similar to his old action with a kink and lot slower in air with more trun. It's not fair to the batsmen as it is like two different bowlers bowling. Now that Hafeez also got a remodelled action clear, I am pretty sure he will resort to that too. Bangladesh's premier spinner Sohag Gazi also got his action cleared but BCB has the policy of letting the bowler get used to his remodelled action before he is called up again. He has been toiling in domestic cricket for last few months and that according to me is the right way. I am not blaming the Pakistani bowlers here but I think PCB is wrong in rushing them and putting them in pressure situations where they feel the need to resort to their old action to save their careers. They should have let these bowlers get comfortable with their new actions in domestic cricket first. I just hope ICC forms a committee who monitors this remodelled action and sort of make sure they don't switch between their clean and old actions.

Only question is - are all 6 different actions legal? True....but when one is clean and the other is not.....the quality may vary from a club level bowler to a test level bowler....it's like fast bowler bowling at 120 kph and suddenly delivering a 145 kph ball

It should be the umpire's job....ICC should have a committee or panel who can monitor the video footages of all these remodeled action bowlers and make sure they adhere to their remodelled actions
Gollum Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Needs to be monitored. Ajmal was blatantly chucking many of his deliveries in the 2nd ODI, not blaming him but it is human tendency to go back to past methods that have brought you success when you are under the pump.

swatpulla Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Murali had a well established natural bend, while Ajju's bend was stuff of fiction. Let's not categorize him alongside Murali, because if we have to do that, then Wasim too would deserve a mention alongside SreeSanth or Asif.
Zero_Unit Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 all the chuckers played all their life chucking and practicing that same bowling action over and over again. the memory in the muscle is still there. couple of months to rectify the action for a 30+ years old guy will most likely not work. had he been in his early twenties, that would be a different case.

putrevus Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Murali was a chucker and all this natural bend was just hogwash, He could bowl leg spinner without any bend. It is sad that highest wicket taker in the sport was a chucker.
