DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK told TOI that they would send 25,000 food packets everyday to Nepal. Similarly, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said they too would be dispatching 20,000 food packets on Sunday itself. The food packets would contain four to five chapatis, dry vegetable cooked in 'desi ghee' and pickle wrapped in foil, said GK. The food packets would be sent to Nepal with help of the Air Force. :hatsoff: - Swayamsevaks of Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS, joined in for the rescue operation at the earthquake affected areas in Nepal. RSS inspired Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh in Nepal is leading the rescue operation. RSS Swayamsevaks from Kushinagar and Maharajganj Jilla, the 2 northern most districts of Uttar Pradesh and also from few Border regions of Bihar; joined the rescue operations hours after the occurrence of the great tragedy. They are providing food, drinking water, clothes, medicines and temporary shelter for the needy. Now 20,000 is most probably an exaggeration but many RSS volunteers have reached Nepal or will reach there by tomorrow morning to assist in the operations. They are coordinating with HSS, IAF and Nepali Government for this. :hatsoff: - Baba Ramdev's health camp has turned into a relief camp. His volunteers donated blood and his organization is offering food, drinking water, toilet and halt facility in his Yoga tent. Ramdev said even after he leaves, Acharya Balkrishna will continue to stay in Nepal to offer services. He also said that his Patanjali Sevashram will adopt orphan kids whose parents died in this earthquake. :hatsoff: Sikhs always step up during times like these, extremely large hearted people. RSS which is criticized 24X7 by the media has once again proved that it is a selfless social organization that always does great humanitarian work without expecting anything in return unlike the Evangelist vultures who prey on the insecurities of people affected by calamities like this. Also hats off to Baba Ramdev who gets unnecessary criticism for his contribution to Yoga, Ayurveda(Brinda Karat and other communists call him fake, cheat, and all sorts of names but they have never done anything for the society like the Baba), proximity to BJP etc. And people who compare RSS with AIMIM, do note that in their FB fan page in stead of even grieving for the victims they are telling that it was a punishment by Allah for doing idol worship, being kafir etc. How much relief material have the AIMIM fanatics sent to Nepal? What have PFI done? What social service have SIMI done? People who dare to mention AIMIM as similar to RSS need to have their heads examined, seriously.

Its been at about 80% odd for decades. Bhutan is Buddhism mixed with a bit of Hinduism Nepal is Hinduism mixed with a bit of Buddhism. Hinduism and Buddhism in these two countries keep fluctuating per census. In reality the people practise this a mixture of both religions. Sometimes people feel buddhist sometimes people feel hindu. Its similar to china whereby many follow a mixture of taoism and Buddhism. Ie people have multiple religions. As far as the harvesting goes, there are going to be about 400-500 foreign missionaries there. Iis not enough to make any impact in a country of some 28 million. No single figure has been given by RSS.. RSS @RSSorg Media is reporting inflated figures of RSS Swayamsevaks reaching Nepal for rescue work The point of this thread is to appreciate the relief work done.. in this regard the Sikh Gurudwaras & Indian railways have done more in providing food & water

The point of this thread is to appreciate the relief work done.. in this regard the Sikh Gurudwaras & Indian railways have done more in providing food & water agree. Kudos to the sikhs. In the UK anybody can just walk into a Gurudwara and demand food. They get good food as well. Fresh and quite frankly better than many restaurant quality. I remember having a chat with a dude who was pro Khalistan. This guy did donate something like £100 pounds for the Bhuj earthquake. This was like more than a decade ago. They are a loving and giving people. In the UK did they raise a lot for the kashmir earthquake as well. On the rss figures, i read it in the media. Maybe not RSS but VHP does have a major presence in Nepal. So i think the media were reporting pan Hindu organisations. The RSS is also known to play down their numbers. There are a lot more shakas in India of the RSS than what the media quote. They dont like the limelight. They are a shadowy organisation. You goto Nagpur and their headquarters is tucked away in a back alley. Wont be surprised that actually RSS/VHP numbers are more than whats quoted . This is why RSS and Bal T had a fractious relationship. RSS never liked Bal T and his exposure to the media they viewed him as flamboyant. Bal T viewed them as lacking the balls to do anything. Its like Bal T quote state "2000 sainiks did xyz" the real number would be about 500 and they probably did not do anything of note. RSS claims to have say for example "1000 volunteers" actually number would be 2000 and they would have done something substantial.

Fresh and quite frankly better than many restaurant quality. In the US too, you can just walk into any Gurudwara and you will be greeted warmly, welcomed and given great quality food. I remember visiting a Gurudwara for a friend's langar. This was a family run small place. The family that ran that place who I had never met before were so warm and welcoming, it felt like I was just visiting a friend's house. Incredibly generous and welcoming.

I think it does need to be pointed out how some groups that are generally maligned in the media always show up to help in calamities. You won't hear many of our esteemed English news channels reporting these news.
