AFAIK, there is no distinction between a OCI card holder and others in terms of PP/Visa requirements - This was told to me by my NRI friends. 1 Passport Requirements: Actual, original signed passport and one photocopy of passport information and signature page. The passport must be signed, valid for 6 months beyond stay in India, with at least two blank passport pages available for India visa stamp. You are a citizen of India,only 3 things you cannot do are Vote Run for political office Buy agricultural land(obviously there are loop-holes here :winky:) But yes your current passport of your country of citizenship has to be valid and renewed

coffee_rules Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I gotta do the same after my passport renews next month. Too bad to plan for OCI before the summer travel season. It's best to do it in Fall, or when you know you won't travel for about 2 to 3 months. You will have to send your US PP for stamping in the last 2 weeks after verification is done which takes about a month or so. Or you can travel to a Indian consulate ..not sure if they can stamp and give it in a day..
Rajiv Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Comparatively Indian Consulate in Vancouver has been fast, I got my parents Indian police clearance in 3 Days but same time they have material right in front of them in the drawer and they are blaming posts and computer glitch for the delay..that delay of them not simply opening a drawer cost me 1900.for a flight to India
