Number Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 ^^ You should also write "I Always Thought I'd Return Home to India -- Until Modi became the PM". :P

Crookbond Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 You need some rest IMO :two_thumbs_up: I meant disagree Jingoism in phooltoo phloow - India has better living conditions than US phor veemen! I seriously don't get it Outy - either people are just trolling or they actually believe it. It's much better to bow out of this conversation before it starts getting ugly.
Crookbond Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 :confusedman: Do You know what you are talking? If its not data driven ' date=' Then its individual perception/experience driven ? Right? :dontknow:[/quote'] Look, here's my final reply - there are some things which hardly need data to prove; intuition is good enough. Here is one Statistics 101 lesson - you can't compare crime rates particularly women related crimes across countries.
mishra Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Look' date=' here's my final reply - there are some things which hardly need data to prove;[b'] intuition is good enough. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: There are areas with wester cities which are equally or even scarier to walk without getting mugged. Off course you pay the consequence. Here is one Statistics 101 lesson - you can't compare crime rates particularly women related crimes across countries. Yes you can. There is allways data available pertaining to serious crime like Rape against women. OK here is for rape. Check the table on the page. Right side is rape per 100,000. Assuming only one in 10 rape gets reported in India, even then data shows India safer than most of west. Is cos of society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics

Just like you googled the rape statistics, there is also an article about it on the BBC; try it out.

I can only present facts and fact is statistically (average wise- check the table again) India is a safer place. Unless you come with some evidence your intuitions are just as good as intuitions.
ExpressPace Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I don't blame her, India is a rape capital where thousands of cases don't even get registered so the better choice is to stay in states.
coffee_rules Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 http://travel.amerikanki.com/worlds-most-dangerous-vacation-destinations/ This one thinks India is more dangerous than Syria right after Iraq. I have never thought before that*India*could take one of the leading places among the most dangerous countries in the world. But such is the reality. Especially the country is threatening for women who come here. Nowadays we can observe the increase of women violence in India. Some rape cases that are highlighted in the media can state as a good proof of women’s unsafety in this country. It doesn’t mean that the cases of violence occur constantly but still it is the most alarming issue for the locals and foreigners coming to India. This problem caused the reduction of Indian tourism in 2013.

Unless you come with some evidence your intuitions are just as good as intuitions. Yes yes...women are much safer right from the foetus stage...
riya Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 :confusedman: Do You know what you are talking? If its not data driven ' date=' Then its individual perception/experience driven ? Right? :dontknow:[/quote'] By data,Saudi is the best place for women...much safer than US.
mishra Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 By data' date='Saudi is the best place for women...much safer than US.[/quote'] You are mixing between crime against women vs freedom to women.
mishra Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Yes yes...women are much safer right from the foetus stage... Rhetoric makes no sense. Laws are there. And slowly getting implemented too. Try determining foetal sex in India and you will realize how difficult it is in 2015.
Kalia_Test Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 LOL at data being discarded when it does not suit "intuition" Teenage pregnancy data below. Wonder what the lady in OP would say to this. Maybe she is OK with her daughter to get pregnant at 15 or so with a "safe" 17 year old boyfriend of her daughter. Kudos to her :two_thumbs_up: She has really adopted her host country :hatsoff:
beetle Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Rhetoric makes no sense. Laws are there. And slowly getting implemented too. Try determining foetal sex in India and you will realize how difficult it is in 2015. The very fact that we need laws to prevent people from killing their own daughters in the womb/at births ....says it all.Millions of girls killed is not rhetoric.
randomGuy Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Yes yes...women are much safer right from the foetus stage... Wish someone pushes u off ur scooty pep. :winky: (j/k)
randomGuy Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I don't blame her' date=' India is a rape capital where thousands of cases don't even get registered so the better choice is to stay in states.[/quote'] India raped pak and every time it got reported. :dontknow:
Kalia_Test Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 India raped pak and every time it got reported. :dontknow: He is worried about the many times more that did not get reported maybe :dontknow:
Brainfade Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 The very fact that we need laws to prevent people from killing their own daughters in the womb/at births ....says it all.Millions of girls killed is not rhetoric. I had always thought you were pro-choice.
