Ironhide Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Shane warne revealed he's booked in baseball pantheons Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field and Dodger Stadium to host the anticipated fixtures as well as signing on some of the biggest names of the past 25 years. And perhaps most significantly for those running the game at the ICC, Warne says he’s received interest from the mayor of Las Vegas, Carolyn Goodman about building a cricket stadium that could showcase international matches in the future. Warne and business partner Sachin Tendulkar have recruited all-time greats Brian Lara, Adam Gilchrist, Glenn McGrath, Jacques Kallis, Wasim Akram, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Jonty Rhodes as part of 28 players to have agreed to play a part in spreading the cricket gospel to the US. The initial plan is to play three Twenty20 exhibition matches in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles and launch cricket into a giant market which has so far proved elusive for cricket authorities, despite the large population of subcontinental migrants. If the concept works, Warne then plans to lead his “Formula One†team to other new frontiers like Singapore and Hong Kong.“We’re looking at ourselves as a Formula One team,†Warne said exclusively at a William Hill golf event in Melbourne. "The Mayor of Las Vegas came up to me while I was playing in the world series of poker and asked me would we put a game on there and that they’d love to build a stadium and have a proper game in Las Vegas. I know the MGM Grand want some stuff to be put on too. “We’ve signed around 28 players who have all said ‘if you and Sachin are doing it, we’d like to do it as well.’ The hope at this stage is for the exhibition matches to be held this year, but obviously not until November — when the Major League Baseball post-season would be wrapped up and three of its iconic fields free for use. We’ve got all the players you’d want to see from the past 20 years,†said Warne. “Part of the all-stars idea is we go around and the people who haven’t had the opportunity to see these guys play over the years because they’re based in the States can come. “We want to go there live, promote the game of cricket for children, put on some events and have some fun playing cricket. “If we can get some kids with a cricket bat (in their hands) rather than a baseball bat that’d be pretty handy.†Warne said: “We’ve met with the ICC who are very happy to be on board with us so we just want them to be official partners with us. We’re speaking with the American Cricket Association to make sure they can help us as well,†he said. “We’re looking at Hong Kong, Singapore and a few other areas around the world that don’t really see much cricket. But America is our first project.

November in New York may not be the best time to best time to play on an open field tho. They should have looked into some of the NFL stadiums with a retractable roof.

It is just 3 games in 3 venues, i think players can manage 3 games in cold and fans can also a manage a single game in Cold as it will be a T20 game.

I also wish to see Viru play in other T20 leagues like CPL, BBL etc..
