vijay50 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Watching Johnson rip the pommies. Mm.. Will we ever get a pacer like Johnson or are we stuck with Dhokla guys like Unadkat, Nehra and Dhawal Kulkarni.
Precambrian Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The same Johnson who was grovelling against us down under?
G_B_ Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I have already had one. David Johnson has played for India. As i remember he was pretty fast but a spray gun... I shall get my coat....
sensible-indian Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The same Johnson who was grovelling against us down under? On the worst pattas known to mankind (Aussie pitches are hopeless roads these days). Even Gabba wasn't its usual self. Only exception was Adelaide post day 4.
sensible-indian Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I have already had one. David Johnson has played for India. As i remember he was pretty fast but a spray gun... I shall get my coat.... The biggest problem for our pace bowlers is that they lack brains. They are just toooo dumb.
HippoSucks Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The same Johnson who was grovelling against us down under? On lifeless pitches... Unfortunately in recent times India hasn't produced one fast bowler who can somewhat consistently run through line ups even on helpful pitches.
The Realist Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Watching Johnson rip the pommies. Mm.. Will we ever get a pacer like Johnson or are we stuck with Dhokla guys like Unadkat' date= Nehra and Dhawal Kulkarni. Just look at the speed barriers that face is breaking
putrevus Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Well... Did he really say that lol ?? If he did thank goodness he did not become fast bowling coach.
G_B_ Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Ashoke dinda is probably the worst pacer to ever play for India.
The Realist Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Ashoke dinda is probably the worst pacer to ever play for India. I prefer to call him Achoke Dinda after the many times he has lost the match for his numerous IPL teams. Ganguly thinks the world of him through.
MK55 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Just look at the speed barriers that face is breaking :hysterical:
punjabi_khota Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Well Zaheer did what Johnson is doing and more in 2007. 19 wickets in 3 match series. and Man of series.
MK55 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 We are a trundler loving nation. Don't think we're ever gonna produce a bowler like MJ/Starc/Morkel. Will continue to produce bowlers of Kumar type though. These type of bowlers can also do a fair job considering their limitations. Forget fast bowlers who can intimidate the opposition. We cant even produce bowlers who can bowl at a decent clip. Yadav and Aaron are an aberration. Unless these bowlers prove to be successful, I don't think we are going to produce any more quicks. Now that Binny has proven some what effective, I expect some more 'all-rounders' like him in years to come.
Marut Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Select bowlers with raw pace at the junior level and teach them swing and control. But if you select line and length bowlers at the junior level we can't teach them pace. Pace is natural while control can be learnt. India will get real pacers when we look for them. But we are constantly looking for trundlers.
Texy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 WE've Varun Aaron but look how badly he has been mismanaged and mishandled along with a non-supporting captain to boot.
swatpulla Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Johnson's skills can easily be matched, but his attitude can't be. Our bowlers are too phattu to be like him.
rkt.india Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I have already had one. David Johnson has played for India. As i remember he was pretty fast but a spray gun... I shall get my coat.... He wasnt really fast. He would just run fast.
rkt.india Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Even if we have fast bowlers we do not have attitude. Few runs conceded and our kaptaan start thrashing them openly. As saying captain is as good as the team but it is also the captain who makes the team. Their attitude too will be as good as the captain's. Bit of criticism and our bowlers start looking to contain and reduce speed rather than trying to gain control at speed which does not help them at all. They they think they are wayward because they are bowling quick and does not go into the root cause of the problem.
