Shivaji bhonsle Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 1.There are times when Captains will have to use strange tactics & even Virat will do his share . May look idiotic to couch critics , but its also got wickets for us on occasions . Wiat till we play a team which makes our bowlers work for their wicket . 2.Bhuvi if hes picked should open the bowling ? Infcat would have been more useful that Aaron in this match. 3. Commendable ? its retarded to play 5 bowlers with the kind of batting we have . 4. if NO Jadeja , there is Rohit in place of Pujara . Jadaja was picked to fill a role of an allrounder , he may not have justified that but there was always more reasoning behind it compared to Rohit being groomed as a No3 . 5. SC pitches , we beat much better teams than this SL under Dhoni . Attacking / negative you will see everything when we start touring again . 6 . :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: you mean Aaron ? Even then it should have been Yadav , every one knows that of the two Yadav should play tests and Aaron may be ODIs . 1. So you agree with leg slip? :hysterical: no cricket captain in the world had that fielding position for spinners regularly like retard Dhoni. 2. Bhuvi was bowling at 106kph in Australia and you want him in the team? : hysterical: he didn't pick any wickets in the practice matches either and you want bhuvi to be picked? Lol 3. 5 regular bowlers is the way to go if you want to win test matches. So far it has worked well in Bangladesh as well as in Srilanka. You can complain when that strategy fails, not when its working. :hysterical: 4. Jadeja hasn't done anything to be picked again. He is even dropped from Odis and you want him to be picked.. :hysterical: .. As far as rohit is concerned, yes , its a controversial decision but every captain have their favorites and Rohit has got two double centuries in Odis and its a hard decision to leave him for pujara. But, if rohit doesn't do well, then he will be dropped. Don't worry about that. 5. Srilankans are used to their home conditions. Its brilliant that we are doing well against them. Under Dhoni we lost against England and I still can't digest the fact that we lost it. You can choose to ignore but for test cricket fans like Will always hate that loss. 6. Yes Aaron. ****ing deal with it. :hysterical: had enough of your nonsense.
gakgupta Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I will see how long this support for aggressive cricket last . How is Virats team selection different from Dhonis ? Hes not picked Yadav & hes played Ishant like Dhoni did . Picked 3 spinners . Hes picked Rohit over Pujara which even Dhoni would not have done . you play 15 tests with a team which has little or no experience , every thing will look negative ...I will bump this thread on 12 months time . I have no doubts that most of you "fans" of test cricket would have completely turned against Virat . This has nothing to do with results or the game of cricket , its just how our fans are . Aggressive captain doesn't mean, he should select different team He will define the mind-set of his bowlers. Pls read this article from cricbuzz http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/74083/virat-kohli-has-given-ashwin-license-to-kill

Lannister Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I think playing 5 bowlers will help our batters to improve and perform better in pressure situations. He will be knowing you can't afford to give away your wicket, and instead will try to play with more sensibly.

Also, playing 5 bowlers ensures that our attack turns up with a killer instinct every single time.
Cricket_Hacker Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Didnt understand the tactic of tuk-tuk throughtout the day, especially at the end of the day

swatpulla Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Or it could put more unnecessary pressure on the batsman causing them to fail. That's more likely to happen in bouncy or swing friendly conditions. All should be fine in the subcontinent.
rahulrulezz Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Sorry I even bothered responding to you Wtf r u taking about. He is exactly to the point I never thought I wud loose interest in cricket but Dhoni killed my interest. I have not followed a single test match from last 2 years cuz of Dhoni ziddi and adiyal attitude. The bugger was so ziddy. He would keep selecting VKumar ISharma Jadeja over others. Did Dhoni ever mention that Yadav was our highest wickettaker in the World Cup. But I can show you 35 different interviews praising Jadeja one match after another. Boiled my blood. The bugger even said Jadejas performance in wcup was praiseworthy and he should be continued. That was my limit of him and his third class ziddy attitude.

I agree with most of ur points I stopped watching Test cricket sometime back for above said reasons and many more. But dude!!! He is best ODI captain ever produced by India. He is a big tournament captain. We have seen that quite often. He is still best ODI captain right now
BeautifulGame Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 1. No idiotic leg slip. 2. Not opening with bhuvi in helpless conditions. 3. Picking 5 bowlers ( you can argue about the selection of the bowlers, but the intention of going in with 5 bowlers is commendable) 4. No jadeja. 5. Always looking to pick wickets.. Keeping the slips all the time. 6. Picking fast bowlers who can bowl fast and get something from the dead pitch. What more do you want? 1.Leg slip was stupid 2.Yeah don't open with your best swing bowler with new ball.Seriously :hysterical: 3.Dhoni was the Indian captain who started packing 5 bowlers for test team in decades .Kohli is just following it 4.Better than having the useless Harbajan . 5.Yeah thats why we had just one slip for Aaron and Mathews catch went through vacant second slip 6.Picking phaast bowlers who are brain dead and giving 6 an over :lmao: Let's not forget about playing Maggi noodles at no.3 .

Best swing bowler who bowls @ 106k and who doesn't pick wickets even in practice matches? :hysterical: 3. Dhoni picked 5 bowlers, but not regularly. 4. Jaddu isn't a test player. No further arguments regarding it. Bhajji was picked because of the array of left handers in Srilankan team. We had to go with 3 spinners and these are the available spinners in the squad. He had no choice I guess. 5. Dude, he kept the slip, didn't he? Intentions are important, results will follow if you are always looking to be aggressive. 6. Who are the other fast bowlers who could have been picked ? These two (varun and ishanth) did well in practice matches and bhuvi went wicket less. Umesh could have been selected, but he didn't do much in practice matches I guess. If we went with 3 fast bowlers, Umesh would have got selected.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 Lets not forget the amazing tactics of dhoni to open with part time bowlers after a lunch break or tea break in the name of " gut" feeling..!!!.. Lol.
Vijy Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 This session is going to be a real "test" for Kohli - possibility of 150+ runs being leaked
BeautifulGame Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Even the 120 collapse wasn't this depressing and WI actually had great bowlers. No back bone pathetic team selection with weak mentality Really exciting watching this for sure :Canastop: This is what going to happen once Dhoni retires from Odis too.Straight back to the era before mid 2000s where any total brings panic and collapse.

I don't think it's possible we would have won this Test under a different captain - there were 2 bad selections (Nohit and Bhajji) but the rest would have stayed the same even under MSD.

A competent no.3 not named Rohit we would have won by an innings

We would not have gone with 5 "batsmen" to start with . Pujara in place of Rohit alone would have been good enough win. This is such a mediocre SL team , the only way we would have lost is by getting every tactic wrong ..we managed to do that

This is such a mediocre SL team , the only way we would have lost is by getting every tactic wrong ..we managed to do that Their bowling is mediocre, but their batting is still marginally better than ours. They have 1 ATG (Sanga), 1 who will become at ATG (Matthews) and Chandimal will become a very good batsman, at least in SL, in the future. Statistically, each of these 3 have higher avgs at the moment than the Indian batsmen.
