Flat Pitch for Sanga's Farewell?

There is nothing unethical even if they have prepared a flat deck. But if there is no prolonged rain intervention, there will be a result.

Even in the absence of rain, however, it seems to me that this pitch is somewhat flatter than the norm.

SL have the right to prepare any track. I just hope this ain't a patta cos that would be frustrating. Is the pitch turning or doing anything? Will it do anything by Day 3?
I missed the 1st session so don't know how it was then. But right now it looks like a flat track, at least compared to the usual P Sara track. That isn't necessarily a bad thing looking at the scorecard now and our present batting line up. But the good thing is that it will offer spin at some stage and we are bowling in the 4th dig. 5 bowlers and Ashwin +Mishra is a positive here. We need to make this start count and score 450-500. I still believe that if >400 overs are bowled in this match we will have a result.

I agree and that may cost us dear. Normally in any venue days 2 and 3 are the best for batting. Lanka have the firepower to bat us out of the game if we get all out cheaply. And then it will be a question of survival for us on the final 2 days.:nervous:

Kaushal was turning the ball quite a bit towards the end. If we could get to 400 (somewhat unlikely), Ashwin and co would be pretty good. Big mistake in not choosing Ojha again. Binny + Ishant would have sufficed.
