amiret Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Some strange psychological disorder is afflicting some men of that state and causing them to make silly exaggerated claims about their own physical proportions . Patels in Gujarat have 56-inch chests and know how to make government oblige them on their demands,” said Hardik, leader of the Sardar Patel Group, while addressing around 1.5 lakh people gathered at Navlakhi grounds in Vadodara. http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/demand-for-obc-status-hardik-patel-set-to-get-govt-invite-for-talks-after-56-inch-chest-reminder/#sthash.a97wGtfk.dpuf

G_B_ Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Looks like remnants of the Gujarat parivartan party.... They got crushed and then merged into the BJP. If these people think that BJP are going to cave to their demands then they have another thing coming. Hard dick can keep organising rallies away
Texan Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Please include them and whoever else (Gujjars, Marathas, Muslims, etc. ) wants to be in OBC category. Hell, just include every Indian in some category or the other and reserve education, job, land, toilets, water, air equitably for every caste and sub-caste.
vayuu1 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Yup heard 2 million people will join the rally organised by hardik patel.
rageaddict Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I wish India was a small country with less diversity , less divisions and thus less number of groups popping up every week for " rights of their community ". What an awful country to live in.

Chief minister Anandiben Patel appealed agitators to remain co-operative and peaceful by reminding the havoc created exactly 30 years ago because it had destroyed "social fabric".This is because the 1985 movement and communal riots divided the society on castes and communal lines. Joint police commissioner (Sector I) R R Bhagat said that the security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident and cops deployed in minority-dominated areas. In 1985, the anti-reservation movement intensified as the then Madhavsinh Solanki-led Congress government proposed to increase OBC quota from 10% to 28%. After this announce ment, the state assembly election took place and the Solanki gover nment got elected once again with a record number of seats, 149 of total 182 seats. This time, the protest be gan w i t h i n d ay s o f Solanki and his ministers taking oath. Akhil Gujarat Navrachna Samiti was formed by students and a lecturer with LD Arts College, Shakarbhai Patel, formed Akhil Gujarat Vali Mahamandal, which presided over the antireservation stir that was to follow later. The protest first began from Ahmedabad's medical college in Asarwa and within 10 days the agitation spread in eastern part of the city and in central Gujarat. In mid-March, there was a call for Gujarat bandh which got a heavy support from the upper castes, especially Patels. Amid anti-reservation movement, incidents of violence continued to take place. Many establishments of the Dalit commu nity were targeted across the state. On March 23, medical students who had gone to submit memorandum to then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi were arrested. This fueled agitation and hospi tal doctors went on a strike tal doctors went on a strike demanding release of the students. However, by the end of March, clashes began to take a communal turn. On April 15, a three-day deadline was given to the gover nment and the movement intensified once again resulting in damage to properties belong ing to the poor. The violence took an ugly turn on May 8, when a PSI T N Rana was shot dead in the Walled City. The upper castes and police joined together in their attacks on the minorities who became the new target now. Solanki had to abdicate and Congress chose Amarsinh Solanki in his place. The state government set up Justice V S Dave Commission to inquire into the communal violence. It pointed out how the politically explosive and socially divisive policy of reservation could play havoc with the society. The commission examined the widespread and insensate violence that had rocked Gujarat for about five months in 1985. Patidars from UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, MP, in support A number of Patidars (Kurmis) and other community leaders have arrived for the Patidar rally. Akhilesh Katiyar, President Lohpurush Yuva Sangh, Lucknow said: "In Uttar Pradesh and most other states except Gujarat and Mahrashtra, Patidars are in OBC category than why not in Gujarat. We have come to Gujarat to support the cause." Take up Patidar quota stir as PIL suo motu: Applicant Acting chief justice of Gujarat high court received a letter on Monday morning urging him to take the issue of Patidar reservation as suo motu PIL and put a stop to the rallies. Applicant Dhaval Patel requested the court to intervene to control the rally in the city on Tuesday. Citing the example of the Visnagar rally where violence was reported last month, he expressed concerns about the possibility of violence. ACJ Jayant Patel kept the proceeding for 5pm. Advocate general along with other law officers also went to the court, but the applicant did not turn up to present his case. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/Patidars-Kranti-rally-Ghost-of-anti-reservation-stir-returns/articleshow/48662418.cms
