Not to criticize one innings - but ...

KL rahul is young and if he is smart (dunno), he will focus on improving his keeping skills, will be great if KLR morphs into a test keeper who can bat at #6 or 7 for second new ball and spinners situations. Age is on KLR's side.
Rahul is an opener and should continue working on it, why would you want him to become a keeper and bat at 6 ?

Naman Ojha always bats like that. You already what's come with him. He treats spinners with a disdain. He is no Pujara, Vijay or Saha. He is like live Sehwag or die with the sword especially against spinners.

Still more convincing than Saha. Also kept pretty well' date=' that catch was brilliant.[/quote'] Has got more batting talent than Saha, but he seems to throw it away all too easily.

He is a Haddin/Prior type bat. Will take us out of trouble quickly more often than not. It was his partnership with Pujara that changed the tide and helped India reach to 300+ after being 119-5. Saha scored runs but more often than not he wont be able to take out team from a precarious position. Ojha clearly the better of 2 and his keeping was impressive as well. IMO he should be a started for SA series.

Ojha looked pretty confident but threw his wicket away - against better teams' date=' such a practice will prove to be costly.[/quote'] Such things can be fixed imo, important thing is he has a game that suits the combination we're fielding. I'd feel much better with Ojha coming in at 100-5 rather than Saha. Even if both get out cheaply, Ojha will have taken the game further than Saha.

Certainly seems like batting "ability and skill" of N. Ojha > saha Hope he learns temperament, horrible Yusuf Pathan like shots to get out, in Intl Test match! (And stuart binny plays Yusuf/Valthaty like as well *shaking head*) But better batsman than saha (looks like it, one match is a small sample).

As a strokemaker, Naman is quite ahead of Saha... and many other batsmen in this team. What remains to be seen is his defensive technique and temperament.
