gakgupta Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 There was time where every single match was a lame draw and every batsmen used to get 100's. Some used to get double and even triple centuries.....but now...esp this season...there are lot of results in Ranji matches......this means batting is far more difficult as compared to 4 to 5 years back.....so batsmen making those 100's are much more capable? Anik Krishna Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Yeah. R8. But you must find the genuine talents though. Some are born to be domestic bully. Many score hundred. But all are not genuine talent neither ready for International stage. There are talented guys like Shreyas Iyer from Mumbai who can score hundreds and again some hack Sudip Chetterjee from Bengal can also score hundreds. But we know who is the right choice for next Indian National Team. You should choose the best ones. And for that the selectors regional and national should be very patient and caring. Is sudip chatterjee that bad??
Anik Krishna Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 No. No. I was just saying that Sudip and Iyer both scored well in the recent Ranji Trophy. Iyer was well known before the Tournament. He scored well this time. Again Sudip who didn't get chance in Ipls also scored few 100s in the tournament. Both are talented. I was just saying Sudip was less familiar. Here you can met with lots of players with different capabilities. Some unknowns (comparatively) might go zero to hero. Sudip was also just another player. But now he's the face of Bengal State team. This what I meant. Not 'Name' the performance and atitude should be priority in the Seletors table. Talent is useless if its not hardly used.

Sudip Chatterjee isnt a hack. He has tackled difficult conditions when others falling like 9 pins. He is a young batsman who has been talked about very highly in bengal.

Iyer is more flamboyant while Sudip is more traditional. He plays long and lot of balls. He might have played more deliveries than Iyer this season.

gakgupta Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 I am hearing good things about Sudip too. Like you said...he has played well when the chips are down.I always respect a guy who plays when chips are down.....Steve Waugh used to do that on consistent basis for Australia.....these kind of innings makes a playesr special.....if he is any good, I would like him to graduate to next level. But Bengal was never a good batting team.....we have seen SAHA scored lots of runs when chips were down but he is not a special talent by any means
fineleg Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Some fast tracking of Shreyas Iyer maybe warranted. Otherwise we will just wait till he loses his red hot form, and then pick him when he is out of form. Atleast get him in for the next series we play. doccricket 1

gakgupta Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 abhimanyu easwaran is the most promising Batsman from Bengal. He got a good 80 in the last match where every one else couldn't even pass 50
amiret Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) Nope.We can't even take most of the international centuries scored by Indian FTB's in India seriously . Edited November 25, 2015 by amiret doccricket and Old guy 2
