Power hitting options

He is a 19 year old youngster. You won't become Maxwell at that age, too young, too inexperienced. Not even a comparison. People here are very naive expecting rookies just coming from domestic cricket in their teens or early 20s playing like seasoned international cricketers. 

I guess people are just fed up with current team guys..but you are right its too much hype surrounding the young guys hitting ability....we have to wait for consistency before fast tracking 3 to 4 players into team.

We should nurture the right kind of players in the highest level and not someone like Rishi Dhawan.

Iyer, Hooda, Pandya should be in the team. It is them who deserves a 5 match series atleast.

Rkt and other followers of domestics.... How is sarfaraz? People say he is kind of a maxwell type innovative slogger/ batsman

Sarfraz is a quintessential 80s type of player. Lot of wrists into his shots so he constantly keeps the scoreboard ticking. Bit like Aravinda De Silva as a comparison. He is not fully ready yet. But when you look at these bunch of idiots no harm in trying him out sometime later.

The key to building up a good team is to pick the right kind of players , who have the potential to succeed in international cricket, and then giving them a long rope.

I don't think Rishi Dhawan is the right kind of player. (  he can only qualify in the team if he is a proper batsman who is a big hitter too and additionally can bowl a bit. )   Neither is Sran as of now...he may become so if he improves after a year or two. Axar Patel creates a redundancy in the team if Jaddu is also there. Both are basically left arm darters who can bat only in theory. The selectors should not pick them as allrounders and only one of them should be picked.

Selectors have given chances to  many mediocre players in the past and present ... like in ODIs Rayudu, Vinay, Mithun, Mohit, Aravind, Rishi, Sran...and in test matches Raina

Even after picking a right kind of player...it is possible that a glaring weakness comes to the fore after playing international cricket...like acute problem against bounce or swing for a batsman,( and then they have to work on that weakness ) ....or not having international match temperament despite huge talent.

Iyer and Pandiya look like  " international type players ".  Maybe even Gurkeerat is.

Not sure about Hooda and Negi...but they are very big hitters who can bowl somewhat and we badly need one.

The selectors  have to give chance to this group and give them time to grow as players.

Well we do have few option gud bad n ugly

Also it will b gud to have player, who cud give us overs. Rem Rohit,kohli,rahane, dhawan and the wk whoever it ll b wnt give u over. So We need People who cud bowl as well. 

The Bad ones-

Yusuf pathan- well lets just forget him. 1st things he is a terrible fielder. Every yr he drops tons of catches in ipl. Struggles against pace. Doesnt apply himself. His bowling hasnt deveopled. Whereas u have to give credit to jadeja that his bowling has come along way. As a batsman he srsly lack consistency.

Robin uthappa n dinesh karthik- 2 player whom have almost 360 deg shots. But they are all time chokers. Wenever they get chance they choke.

and uthappa has become a top order batsman. HE cud have tried to work his game as lower order batsman develop seam bowling rather waste time on wk n opening. Dinesh karthik well he is a very gud batmasn but a compelte waste of talent

Our current no 7 Jadeja-Well he cant be no 7. He doesnt have the game. If we see all his gud scores in odi - in nz , against eng in eng and in kocchi. He got time to get in and play those innigs. SO it clear he needs time. So either he bats up which looks impossible but he cant b no 7.

special mention- Axar, binny, rishi dhawan. Waste of time they all are.

The Good ones

Shreyas iyer and samson- they are gud proper batsman who have x factor . Their batting in middle at 4,5 can make our batting really strong. As all top 4-5 wud have game to accelrate innings to big and destructive one. 

Pandya- Best potential player. He srsly needs to be invested in . IF improves his batting can even bat up i feel . Shud bat regulary high for state side and india A . 

Deepak hooda - Well looks more of a proper player has some innovative shots. Shud bat to low. But certainely if starts bowling regulary can add huge value to team

Sarfraz - I really him. He has some sought of a gud attitude. The way he had a go at dinesh karthik for running like an idiot in his 1st ipl game only was something very gud i found in him. He has a lot of shots and lot of courage. HE cud really b our maxwell,morgan . Needs to improve his fitness big time and also shud start bowling as well. 

Gurkeerat mann- Needs more time before we pass a judgement. but Can b a gud valuable player

Ugly

Raina,yuvraj, irfan Pathan - Well they all have done well in past. but all have issues. All 3 if does well add a lot of value to the team. 

Pawan negi,Kedhar jadhav, Mandeep singh- not to sure about them. have some thing but a lot against them . Mandeep singh i feel can be a gud lower order batsman but again to to to inconsistent and again to many technique issues.

Iyer is too good to be wasted down the order as a power hitter. If and when Dhobi retires, he should walk into the team at 5 (or maybe 4 or 6).

 

K Jadhav is pretty innovative and has an excellent SR but he relies more on unorthodox shots for 4's rather than outright big hitting. Negi is just a domestic bully - like Rishi Dhawan, he will be found out at international level. Same goes for Gurky - I never rated him all that highly to begin with.

 

Hooda hasn't progressed as well as I'd hoped, otherwise he'd have been the right person at 6 (or maybe 7). Pandya is too raw - his SR is quite "low" despite his 6 hitting ability and his bowling has pace, but appears mostly non-threatening.

 

It's more plausible that Pant may be the one we are looking for - come it at 6 or 7 and bash some balls around. The development of Lomror, him and Sarfaraz will be very interetsing to see.
