Are we missing the bigger picture?

Even BD scored same or more runs in the first 6-7 overs..are you saying Tamim and Mithun are equally good?

You gotta remember B'desh would've been 22/2 in 5 overs had Bumrah not dropped a dolly and given Tamim a life. Had Rohit been equally lucky, we would've finished 160+ or had Bumrah taken that regulation catch B'desh would've struggled to get past the 120-130 mark.

We got a good start against BD 40 plus for first wicket. Now you dont expect to score at 8-9 rpo on bowling pitches because no one really does that. If you try to play quick on such pitches, wickets are bound to fall. You can play according to the surface you are playing on. I dont know why people dont understand such simple things.

Exactly.

I don't know why quite a few people expect high scores on slow pitches.

146 was a decent score on this track.

If we had dropped less catches,  played an extra spinner and bowled Raina / Yuvraj in place of Pandya on this slow pitch...we could have won by 20 runs.

Yeah looking at the Kiwis in this match and the South Africans vs West Indies we are expecting too much from our batting if we expect them to be scoring 160+ on these pitches in order to win. No batting line up is good on the these types of turners. We are only bowling 9 overs of spin on these pitches, thats the main problem.

I think Brian lara made a good point when he said not playing Harbhajan singh india is giving away atleast 20 runs every match. The wins vs Bangladesh and Pakistan would have been much bigger and the loss vs New Zealand would have been closer and their would be less talk here about how poorly Our batting is doing on pitches that are pretty difficult to score on.

The Pace bowlers bowling in the non PP overs and before the 16th over bowled 10 overs conceding 93 runs in 3 matches. Thats were a lot of the pressure release is happening on spinner friendly tracks, its hard to Imagine any spin bowler doing worse than that.

but for some reason Dhoni is under bowling Raina and not even bowling yuvi. on spinner friendly tracks he is leaving 4-7 overs if spin off the table every match which is even more odd than not picking Bhajji.

Hit the nail on the head.

That has been our main issue in this World T20....only 9 overs out of 20 from spinners on slow turning tracks....the reason why we are under pressure every match.

Horses for courses is a wonderful policy to follow.

We should play Bhajji and get more overs out of Raina and Yuvi in the middle.

The last 3 overs should be bowled primarily by pacers.   2 of them definitely by Bumrah.....because he can bowl yorkers at will at that time in the match and keep the pitches out of the equation.

Reason why we dominated last time around was Mishra, Ashwin, Jaddu combo

Bhajji is gonna get reported and banned if he ever plays when the firangi umpires are officiating.

Missing Mishra on these tracks.  Most of us at ICF said it at the time the team was selected......selectors made a bad decision leaving out Mishra.

Any idea about his form? Maybe, they did not consider him because of his form in the domestic circuit.

Just look at what 3 spinners and medium pacer bowling leg cutters are doing to Bangladesh chasing the same total. Making 147 look like 240. And they almost chased it down against us.

Kiwis have been spot on in team selection and execution.

Difference is this is a day match where the pitch got progressively slower

Against us there was dew factor and that's why Bangladesh actually choose to chase as well.

Even then we would have won very comfortably if we held on to our catches .

The fielding was what that cost us really bad against Bangladesh

They did so against India coz Bumrah dropped a dolly off Tamim and he went on to hit 4 4s in an over giving them momentum to get close. Had Bumrah taken that easy catch, B'desh would've been 22/2 in 5 overs and wouldn't have managed to come anywhere close to the Indian total.

That game was a total off day for India, especially fielding. India dropped 4 catches, misfielded, gave overthrows and whatever could go wrong did go wrong in the field. Yet India defended 146. Now imagine if India had a decent day at the field, the ones they usually have these days. B'desh would've struggled to reach 120, forget 146.

Almost all the teams have one right arm legs spinner except India... Most of them have done well on these pitches... Even Aussies have got one (Zampa). All these captains are wasting a player by playing a Right Arm Leg spinner. That's why our Chump Captain stands out apart from all the captains... Our captain knows better than all these other captains... We are so lucky to have him... :nice::love:

All spinners have done well Office Leggie or left arm .

There is nothing to suggest Leggie are having better success rate than other spinners in this world cup.In fact the biggest flop spinner in this world cup is Afridi who is a Leggie

We can easily drop nehra on turning track.
