Pitches in England are generally unplayable if its showery day. If its dry weather in England then not just Kohli but a lot of other players will find form. Till then its asking too much from a player to move from SC condition to English condition in couple of warmup games.

Well said mishra ji,I will like to add one more thing to it, test cricket is all about patience, mixed with aggression, you need to be selective in ur approach and start giving respect to conditions, most importantly, you have to be a lot calmer in ur approach as no. 3 or 4 in giving conditions like England,Kohli in his last tour was neither calm nor was giving respect to conditions, also England found a chink in the armer of kohli by bowling 4th stump line outswing, if their is any place where even the slightest of ur weakness is going to be found out its English conditions, which is like bread and butter for anderson and broad.

It was 37 in 2013,now jumped to 41.his 1st innings average is improving ,he has scored 4-5 tons batting first in the last year or so

Thats very correct. But its very difficult to implement when you are not used to it. What happens is you hit couple of fours and you start feeling good and start thinking that there is nothing different on this pitch then the ones in India apart from cold. And next ball just stays low or swings too much and you mistime or just  and is gone because you foot didnt move.

 

Our batsman likes to pick the line and length of ball and then hit the ball with meaty part of bat . In England its otherway round. If ball hits the meaty part you get runs. Else you just wait and hope ball hits the bat.

^ Offcourse above is only true on showery period. In nets I keep hearing coaches telling kids again and again to hit "late late late"," Wait and let the ball come to you".

Kohli will be the greatest batsmen to come out of India n by the time he is done will be spoken along with Lara n Richards n Sachin but will surpass them all, he has already done it in shorter format.

 

He is getting there in Test, the only difference to covert 100 into 200 n have a bit more patience, nothing else
