Adi_91
It is now dead certain that we will not even surpass our best medal tally of 6. Worse, may not even win a medal which happened last in 1992.
Nova
Quote Dipa Karmakar has an outside chance of winning a medal in Rio Olympics 2016 in the final on Sunday Dipa Karmakar has broken many barriers to be where she is. A win on Sunday will be decisive as far as destiny of Indian sport is concerned. To be fair, it will not be easy. This because she only qualified at the eighth spot for the final on Sunday. For her to win a medal, she has to literally leap from the eighth spot to the second spot. It will not be a walk in the park. In front of her is world class competition. But there is little doubt that slowly but surely the expectation is building up already. If she wins, she will be the new poster girl of Indian sport and dare we say, India as well. One whole week has passed at Rio and the second-most populous country in the world has zero medals to show. This is nothing new. We crib, we complaint every four years but nothing changes. India are yet to win even two gold medals at any one Olympic Games and it seems that they may be past it this time too. At least if you go by the early signs. But Dipa is a special girl with special talent and she may just surprise everyone and go into the final like a champion. Remember there is not a lot separating the eight finalists. What will work in Dipa’s favour is the fact that there will be little pressure to win. We are not talking about pressure from a billion plus Indians here. We are purely looking at how it works with respect to how the sport is. The international press or fans will not expect her to take the final by storm. But that in no way means that she does not have a chance. She has a chance even though sure not a medal is expected by some. The tension for the final has been really building up and it will only get tougher for fans to handle come the event. The thrill of the vaults final is also noteworthy. Dipa though for now will have to calm herself and see if she can be ready for the big event just in time. Not so much physically, but mentally for sure. She will also rewrite history as far as Indian sport is concerned. We all know that she has already achieved much and would do well to achieve the medal the whole country wants from her. For now, we can only wish her all the success. http://www.india.com/sports/dipa-karmakar-final-rio-olympics-2016-the-indian-gymnast-will-be-new-poster-girl-of-india-if-she-goes-well-1405720/ Regardless of what happens in the finals, Dipa has done India proud. randomGuy and Adi_91

Malcolm Merlyn
Saina was out manueveured by her taller opponent. The Ukranian kept going for overhead returns meaning the shorter Saina had to extend to return and the taller Ukranian had easier returns. She virtually took out the famous Saina Body return and body smash out of the equation. randomGuy
Adi_91
Saina could have well played her last Olympic game as well. She will be over 30 by the time the next Olympics come and not many in Badminton survive that long. randomGuy

dragonfly
Saw the game against Belgium live. It was pathetic. It must have been 80% possession for Belgium. They should have won at least 5 - 0.
