Both have struggled against spin at home on turners. Even against SA except Delhi test where pitch was slower and less spin friendly, they struggled. With the kind of pitches we have been preparing since 2012, I suspect their average might even go down further.

I think during delhi test they both figured out were they went wrong in 1st 3 test as they both shortened  their stances. This time i think they also prep better.

Kohli has scored runs on such pitches b4- Chennai test agaisnt Aus and  i think nagpur it was against eng

Delhi pitch was not a rank turner. It wasnt about stance. Nagpur pitch was slow but not a rank turner and that test was a boring draw due to that. Even that Chennai pitch wasnt a rank turner from day 1. Australia scored close to 400 in their first innings. India scored 572. That was a  pretty high scoring game.

I know icfers will kill me for it but Kohli has a perfect batting stance and swing to play pace bowlers. Spin bowling is still something he has to work on and adapt. Luckily, there arent many threatening spinners in test arena. This has been further simplified by ICC since it has been very watchfull of players with long sleeves.

Rahane may be more suited to spin attack. But i have a feeling that new generation of Indian bats arent as confident against spin as of fab 4 era ones.

If Rahul is opening the batting instead of Dhawan, than most of the scoring will be done by Murali & Rahul. If Rohit is selected as no 3 batsman instead of Pujara,Rohit will certainly have some high scores..

Dont think Rohit will be playing ahead of Pujara. After his 145 against SL on a tricky pitch and some good scores against SA in low scoring  games, Pujara is certainly not going anywhere. We will probably need 6 batsmen in WI.
