Binny is good batsman, but he is not a hard hitting batsman required for international matches & his bowling will not be effective in WI or Aussies pitches. Rishi Dhawan has good domestic stats, but in the opportunities he has got,he has not been able to give any confidence regarding both his batting & bowling. Most probably he does not have the mental strength to make shift from domestic to international cricket. Shankar seems a technically sound batsman who is very good at playing spinners, but he is very gentle medium pace part time bowler. If Pandya was selected for A tour he would have got lot of experience,& most probably he would have learned something from coach Dravid. Hardik is way ahead of all of these part time all rounders...hardik is.. A great fielder Aggressive batsmen Average medium pace 130 to 139 k bowler. Selectors are confused or they wanna give enuf chances to others too. We need a bowling all rounder not a batting all rounder like vijay shankar. sandeep and tweaker 2 Link to comment

Selectors doesn't seem to get this. The only bowler (rishi dhawan may not even get into top ranji sides) who seem to satisfy that criteria is hardik pandya and he is not even selected in the A team. The sooner this selection committee goes out the better for indian cricket. tweaker 1 Link to comment

What ever I have seen of hardik n krunnal. .I only beleive that both are very highly talented like path an brothers...krunnal shud be considered to compete with jaddu for odi all rounder slot n hardik shud compete for third or 4th pacer all rounder for tests. We have practically no choice bcos binny can bowl only with new ball n shankar is not a test 5th bowler for sure. tweaker 1 Link to comment
vishalvirsingh
When 4 test bowlers tire..u need a 5th bowler mostly a pacer bubbling with energy n pace else the batsman after 35 overs enjoy n extend there innings. Ball is old n one needs a genuine pacer like shammi or umesh or Ishan't ideally as third pacer who can act as a strike bowler too but if u can't get a genuine quickie one needs a good bowling all rounder. Otherwise we will always take first 4 wickets but the 5th 6th 7th batsmen will spoil our party. Outside of india n Lanka spinners are Dud..we may not even play 2 spinners n only ashwin may play. All tests outside of india Lanka are won by pacers. Which ever team has a better bowling attack..sorry pace attack wins the match. tweaker 1 Link to comment
vishalvirsingh
West indies pitches did not assist pacers recently n they ate also taking correctI've actions to make pitches pace friendly. All cricket teams know this that creating spinning tracks is not futuristic for them. New guy 1 Link to comment
sandeep
Krunal as a bowler is nowhere near Jaddu to be honest. Its one thing to bowl a few overs in a T20 where batsmen are required to score about 7-8 runs per over. Jaddu the test bowler is a serious asset to the team. His poor batting often masks the value of Jadeja the test bowler to our team. But agree 100% on the Hardik Pandya non-selection. It just doesn't make any sense. Enough raw material there and a crying need for the team that he should have gotten opportunities. Inspite of his one-note short bowling tendencies. Groom him for ODIs at least. Don't see why he's passed over. tweaker, vishalvirsingh and Ankit_sharma03 3 Link to comment
tweaker
England A have choose 3 rookie pace bowlers who were in their u19 team against Pakistan A & SL A series . We should have done the same instead of selecting Kulkarni & Co express bowling and Ankit_sharma03 2 Link to comment
express bowling
I hope Kumble and Kohli's views are taken into consideration while choosing A teams for the future. They have a clearer idea about which kinds of players do well in international cricket. Kumble's attempt of creating unity of purpose of all stakeholders will hopefully bring this about. Hardik can hit 140 and he is a all-rounder that makes him a fast bowler, it's unprecedented for India a Kapil. express bowling 1 Link to comment

Yes...and Hardik bowls quite a few 144 k to 146 k deliveries in some LOI series he plays. Link to comment
