Ankit_sharma03 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Rubbish idea already there has been an overdose of t20 cricket this yr lets our players be in the test mode and they need rest. if any injury happens to one of our main players then what does america have proper grounds and ofcourse timezone diff. Rather have tri-series with opp like bang,sl,wi so u can give rest to few players like kohli, ashwin and give chances to many new players. Also a tri-series would be far more competitive than boring one sided bilateral. We already are not playing many Odi b4 champions trophy next yr. M pretty sure even this kind of series would fetch a lot of money. express bowling 1

But yes BCCI will not think about overdose of T20 and players' fitness .
sandeep Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Sahara cup in Toronto did just fine for BCCI and Indian cricket fans. No reason why T20 wouldn't do well enough for Indian TV. And obviously a big win for US based fans. Bigger question is will the BCCI have the cojones to put up serious $$ in facilities. I would much rather see them invest in existing cricket grounds in Florida, Toronto, Colorado? etc and have some quality cricket on a decent pitch. If they put the emphasis on marketing and settle for baseball grounds, then that will be a bit disappointing.

What I meant regarding facilities is use dedicated cricket grounds with proper pitches, of which there are a couple. Instead of going for bigger 'name' fields that don't have proper wickets...

Yes CPL has zero Indian players but since the timing will be awkward , Indian crowd will only follow and not watch. The broadcasters will not take the risk I reckon if the timing does not fit properly.IPL takes a few days to settle in. This will only last for two weeks and hence there is no time to settle in.... Proper cricket grounds in USA won't have big stands and other facilities. The grounds will not yield any money.

If they schedule it in the US, they either get TV viewership or ticket sales, not both. California is approx 12 hours behind India.. -If a match is scheduled at 8pm here, its going to be 8 am in India.. who's going to watch a match at 8am? -If a match is scheduled at 8pm India time similar to IPL, who's going to watch the match in the stadium at 8am? They'd rather have it at a timezone closer to India. sourab10forever 1
