Host, Michael Slater and Tony Greig were sitting in the show and topic was the behavior of Harbhajan behavior on the field...Michael Slater was trying his best to blame everything on Harbhajan and proving oil in fire... Firstly they showed the earlier recorded Harbhajan's interview where he replies to the question, "Should the game be played in right spirit" .Harbhajan replied "Offcourse, Cricket is a gentleman's game. It should be played as a game and with good spirit." The recorded interview of Bhajji gets over and they turn on the show. Host "After saying that statement, do you think that he should have used that comments against Aussies. M.Slater: Yes. That was bad. He should just have rejected that statement. T. Greig: But the answer was pretty forward? You are just trying to put words in his mouth. M.Slater :But he should have just said no. T. Greig: It was obvious. Who will say no. He was asked if the game should be in right spirit. How could anyone say No M.Slater: :nervous: Michael Slater: I think Harbhajan totally crossed the line. He was co-hosting the 2007 Allan Border Medal presentation, he cracked a really poor joke with Andrew Symmonds and Symmonds left the entire entire audience in splits, when he said " Leave the jokes to the funny men mate ! Ganguly gave it right back to him, "How is your divorce coming along". Similarly, McGrath had no problems calling Sarwan a homosexual with Lara as his partner but when asked about his wife's co.ck sucking preferences had no problems in grabbing his throat. During the monkey gate incident: Sachin was the only one close to Haebhajan and he said to Judge Hanson that Harbhajan had said "Teri Maaki". It looks like more and more like Sachin and Harby set up the Aussies. The ODI series played in India a few months before was played with lot of animosity (mostly due to Ponting wanting to win at any cost) and at the end of the series a deal was brokered by Chetan Chauhan (confirmed by CC on TV) and Aussie manger that Symonds and Harby will not talk to each other. Before the series, more likely Sachin and Harby knew Harby would be targeted as Aussies have had problems playing him, so this was a reply that they had planned. When Harby was batting Lee bowled a fine delivery and Harby, when he reached the bowlers end patted Lee on his butt and (seeing competition?) Symonds started abusing Harby and Harby delberately said "teri maaki" to trap the guy and Aussies. Mike Proctor was the worst offender in the case as he punished Harbhajan with out even giving a chance to Harby and Sachin to explain their side of the story. Judge Hanson on examination found no one from Aussie side was near Harbhajan and therefore closed the case in favor of Harby. Further events like Symonds being sidelined and him quitting shows he was manipulated and used by Ponting and co. in this series. Aussies should look in the mirror first before calling any one else racist

good thread, Maybe we are misunderstanding Tony greig. He seems to be the usual astute anti establishment guy that likes to rile jerks up. Let us make one thing clear, Slater was a jerk in this incident, and we all know how BCCI behaves...probably we have to listen to what the man is saying.
