express bowling Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 The following are excerpts from an article on rediff.com http://www.rediff.com/cricket/report/kohli-lauds-outstanding-shami-new-zealand/20161007.htm India Test skipper Virat Kohli, on Friday, reserved special praise for medium pacer Mohammed Shami, terming him a very important bowler for the team, saying 'he makes it count every time he comes on the field'. Praising Mohammed Shami’s performance on returning to the team, following a long injury layoff, Kohli said the Bengal pacer was a very important cog in the Indian bowling attack. "Shami has come on well. He's worked very hard on his fitness as well. In the five-six overs(spell) he runs in, gets bit of momentum. He can take wickets on any wicket. That's the sort of skills he has. He is a strike bowler and whenever he comes on to bowl he makes something happen,” Kohli said. "As a captain, I feel he is a very important bowler for us in this whole season as well as in future. But looking at the future, his fitness and rhythm is very important for us. He is an outstanding bowler, whenever he comes in he makes something happen regardless of the surface we are playing on," he asserted. Well deserved praise for our fast bowler Shami. He has looked like a much better bowler after his return from injury. Not only has he bowled with good pace and bounce, he has bowled in better areas too with movement both ways.....seam, swing and reverse swing. He is our only all-condition fast bowler as of today. Ironhide, tweaker and Mosher 3
tweaker Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Shami has really looked our all condition bowler & he has really bowled well after his injury layoff. Kohli should look after his workload & ensure he is fit.He could have been rested in 3rd test against NZ.We want him fit against England & Australia series

Some of the worst in this aspect are LSRK, Arun Lal, etc. Sometimes, there have been stupid statements like..... he is a really quick "medium-pacer"....... Our "medium-pacers' are bowling fast.....Our " medium-pacers" are quicker than the WI fast bowlers Ironhide, tweaker, Vilander and 1 other 4

Oh indian medium pacers they are slow they cant try to bounce out an australian batman..right around that time there would be 145 delivery on the ground from some indian pacer. First indian Skipper who is praising bowlers on consistent basis.... I am sure, in next few years, india will produce world-class bowlers
