How bad is Rohit Sharma's bowling?

Rohit belongs to the school of conventional old-school off spinners who flight the ball and beat batsman through guile and drift.....Usually such bowlers take pitch out of equation...hence those wickets for him in Eng and Aus.

 

However in LOI's with the flat pitches and big bats....these kind of bowlers are out of fashion.

 

Every team these days has darters....I can't even remember who the last conventional off spinner was....Ashwin is as close as it gets and even he darts in the carrom ball at times in LOI's.

 

There is a reason Axar Patel and Jadeja have some amount of success these days.

 

Rohit's perfect action helps him get more revs on the ball than a lot of modern day spinners but that is a strain on your back and shoulders...being the main 2 batsmen in the side in ODI's and T20's and a crucial piece of the puzzle in Tests....it makes no sense to risk him for a couple of wickets.

 

I am glad team management sees it that way because clearly Rohit is head and shoulders above a lot of part timers.

• Rohit is the designated 6 hitter in the team....The number of 6's he has hit in the last 1 or 2 years are just surreal....You will almost think it is a typo or do a double take when you see his 6's numbers in all formats.......constant 6 hitting messes up your back...While on TV Rohit might make it look like a piece of cake lofting a 150K bowler for a 85m 6,his spine is disintegrating a little every time......This happens to all 6 hitters...Dhoni,Gayle,Mccullum all have bad backs....What does this have to do with bowling-Well this is why you need to apply cricketing logic 101 here....duh you need a healthy back to bowl...simple.
• Next .... he started his career as a off-spinner prodigy....so Ashwin started as a opening batsman...does it mean his batting ability is questioned because he plays in the lower middle order? This is where cricketing common sense not to be confused with cricketing acumen comes into picture.
• If ICC does changes the rule that all unorthodox off spin action should be banned...Rohit might be the last living off spinner on earth.....The guy has a text book action and probably the best action since Swann...no disrespect to Ash as I think Ash despite a legit action and incredible talent with the ball doesn't have a very elegant bowling run-up.
• Finally the guy has a IPL hattrick and has delivered with the ball every single time he has been thrown the ball...got wickets in England and Australia of all places with a very healthy average for a part-timer...so you need to use Cricketing curiosity 101 to question here that is he carrying some injuries?How is his spinning finger? How much will this affect his world class batting and fielding etc.

Hope this puts an end to the debate about Rohit's contribution with the ball.....The guy is a gun bowler but unfortunately circumstances are preventing him from bowling and right now we need him for bigger things.

PAndya was a leg spinner till few yrs ago so was he the next leg spin prodigy

Dhoni or kohli, kumble, sachin  were they fast bowling prodigy coz they bowled in nets

 

 

The only shit i read on those article was-

Did he even take a fifer against any school to be even called that. U want me to give u articles or even videos of these prodigies where they were told as next big thing 

 

talking about his 1-2 wkts  in Aus nz well many part timers would have that.
