Forever Indian Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Younis Khan was the biggest surprise for me given he hardly scores anything outside UAE. CricketBuffOne 1

That's true, but he does score heavily there which is why he finds a place in this list. For me Azhar Ali was the biggest surprise since as far as Pak batting is concerned most of the times its Misbah & Younis who steal the limelight.

I will also add Warner & Williamson to this list, both have a very good Test record and have been doing well consistently. Rahane & Pujara have the technique & the temperament, if they perform consistently they will surely end up among the greats of Test cricket.

In the last 6/7 years they have played most of their cricket in UAE and have done extremely well there. Surprisingly, when I checked his record, he has done decent/well outside Asia, however his numbers are nowhere close to what he amassed in UAE.

Who knows they might start playing Yasir more in shorter formats; he is still very young and extremely talented so can't rule him out totally. Smith again has the ability to well in all formats; scores his runs pretty quickly without taking too many risks. But, he will have to do better than what he he has done so far in shorter formats.

express bowling Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) The Australians seem to rate Virat Kohli very highly. In yesterday's match, multiple commentators said that they thought Kohli is the best batsman now and his batting ability is a cut above the rest. Richards was expressing similar views during the WI tour. Edited December 9, 2016 by express bowling MCcricket, Laaloo, CricketBuffOne and 1 other 4
SUMO Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I always thought smith's technique is ugly and will be found out, he's just having a purple patch but no he is turning out to be legend in the making kane williamson seems to falling behind now may end up at rahane level at the end of career CricketBuffOne and express bowling 2

Experts in Eng feel he has to prove himself in Eng before they can accept him as the best, but otherwise they have great regard & admiration for his talent. express bowling 1
