fineleg Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Some players like Dinesh Karthik are known to not grab chances when given. Some like KL Rahul have done a decent job to grab (sorta) chances given. Some like MS Dhoni have stormed to excellence when first few chances given (despite failure in first or second instances). Will Karun Nair grab this? A century or bigger? Make the dilemma for team selection going forward? Or just let it drift? Exciting to see what the script is going to be. tweaker and Sidhoni 2

There is NO way, Dinesh Karthik will ever be in the playing XI, if Vijay is in the playing Would be a most cruel setup. But Dinesh Karthik did get super lucky for that absolute personal disaster. Deepika Pallikal is gorgeous sandeep 1

wanted_desi Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Hope he does, i don't want to see Rohit in the team. Hope Manish plays next one and makes his way in future squads.

Manish Pandey could debut next match if Karun fails. With all rounder trio's batting form improving Rohit's test career is almost OVER There is no need of the sixth specialist batsmen as India's lower middle order longer now. PS: Rohit is NOT a All-rounder Edited December 10, 2016 by _ramkumar

I am not a huge Rahane fan but he has done well enough overseas and India( twin centuries vs SA, 188 vs NZ) to deserve a extended run in wake of a serious dip in form. sandeep Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Rahane is VC. He should be fine for the next 5+ tests at least.

WC2011INDIA Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) Vc means jack shit. Nair will deliver big time in this and next test and seal his spot. He will get an opportunity in shorter formats. Rahane ain't coming back from this because he is mental midget and hardly performs when his spot is under pressure. Moreover, he has to play FC cricket to even be in contention but by the time he recovers Ranji will be over. So it's going to be a loooooong wait for him. He is anyways done for in ODIs and t20s. Might as well kick him out and get someone who can be as good if not better in Tests and is solid-good in shorter formats. Edited December 10, 2016 by WC2011INDIA tweaker and Sidhoni 1 1
Vijy Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Well, time for Nair now to show how much he can score (or can't). tweaker 1
BeautifulGame Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Messy nervous innings At least he will have a chance to make amends in the 2nd innings unlike in the last time .
