Trichromatic Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 This is probably best winning streak for Indian team in this format of the game. Since those 2 close surrenders in 2002 (we were up by 3-1 and ended up series at 3-3), we have faced them in 4 bilateral ODI series and won all. Dravid led the team during that complete dominance during 2006 series where we won 5-1 and Dhoni continued the demolition. Results: 2006 5-1 2008 5-0 2011 5-0 2013 3-2 Total 18-3. England has improved a lot since then. Will this team be able to repeat our past performances? tweaker and chewy 2

Phew that's total domination though this will be much more competitive series and fresher England team, not much baggage from Test series.

Is this only in India? we lost to them in 2011 England tour 3-0...with 1 tie and 1 wash out in the other 2 games
fineleg Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 This England team is a real good ODI team, and Indian team selection this time is stupid.
Texan Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 England is a much much better ODI team now and I wouldn't be surprised if they won the series. They have got the right ideas, playing aggressive and fearless cricket and they have a long batting line-up to back that up. We have been pretty terrible in ODIs of late, we are stuck in a time warp. We have been playing defensive cricket, we go for "safe targets" in 1st innings, and while chasing, take the game to the last over and then swing bhagwan bharose. These days, the bharosa on the bhagwan of last over has been waning significantly. If we need to improve our prospects in LOIs for the future, we need to change our mindset. Hope Kohli can bring about this change.
CoverDrive Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 going to be tough series. England have found a good combination and our batting order is not settled. We will be relying on spinners to win this
vayuu1 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Yup don't mind that, atleast it would mean, young blood in team, guys like Hooda, pant, suryakumar, Sarfaraz, kishan, iyer , kuldeep, etc in squad any new big hitters this year. Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
