Straight Drive Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Varun is useless. 300 is being scored frequently now. Have Varun in lineup and opponents would score 400. Would never want to see Varun and umesh in ODI. Like a non specialist bowler they are unable to control where they pitch the ball and end up leaking runs like part timers. ShebbySB Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Varun is still young and the fastest bowler in this country...has got intl experience. All he needs is an injury free season. It'll be unfair to write him off while selectors still pick likes of Dinda in A teams. Organizing regular camps for fast bowlers is very important in our country too.... where all quicks with international potential should be groomed specially and fast tracked if good or when ready. I don't know why this is not happening and half the picks in our A teams are trundlers and no new genuine quicks are getting anywhere near the Indian team.
express bowling Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Aniket Choudhary performs against Bangladesh and picks up 4 wickets for only 26 runs As Mosher quoted an article in another thread, he picked up some wickets using pace and bounce. As he is a tall left-armer with pace, bounce and movement..... he deserves a place in the test squad as he would add variety to our attack tweaker, Mosher and Bleed-Blue 3

Issue is Middlesex have a strong bowling lineup and he found it difficult to get into team.Steven Finn is a great bowler to have at other end in CC. Add to it the ankle injury which meant he missed almost one season. Has a five fer versus Yorkshire who are a wonderful CC Division 1 team.

Or do we desire 5 years of trundling in ranji accumulating meaningless stats before being picked

ShebbySB Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Aniket seems to be the best Left arm seamer in the country right now, specially in the longer format. Shami Umesh Ishant BK Aniket These should be our test bowlers at present. Mosher 1

fineleg Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) ^ Is he on average - 135-140 or 130-135 - that can make a difference. (Hope he is not 127-132 Bhuvi like speed) Edited February 5, 2017 by fineleg
