Tamilnadu Political Drama

@BeautifulGameThe first of your 2 posts above is unquotable due to unnecessary hard line breaks.

 - Chennai floods or Vardah were not the same - neither were Monsoon rains.

 - The Cauvery delta did not receive any rain - this was my original point about the govt not responding soon enough to declare a drought.

 - Monsoon season in South India is the same - you think the rains will be like 'oh, we are in TN now, lets not rain here for a few months?'

 - Thai Maasam is 'our' harvesting month? Again, how is 'our' qualified here? The Dravidian 'our'? Haven't you heard of Makar Sankranthi, the harvest festival which also happens to fall during the Thai Maasam? Have your Dravidian politicians actually brainwashed you to believe that weather and seasons are different only for TN? Do you actually believe that 'your' harvest knows that its in TN and therefore must change its timelines? What kind of childish comment was that?

As for the absurd Long time failed state , it's amusing alteast .

We are in the top 5 in per capita income with only the smaller states ahead of us

We are the most urbanized state in the country , rank 2nd in GDP contribution to India .Has one of the highest literacy rates in the country way above national average (4tth in terms of states),one of the top states in HDI, infrastructure.

Also regularly considered one of the safest state in terms of women security .

Damn that failed state .

The first statistic is wrong. TN is not in the 3rd place for Gross Domestic State Product. Your source is a dubious website called Dailyhunt.com. Here is the official govt website http://www.esopb.gov.in/static/PDF/GSDP/Statewise-Data/state wise data.pdf. As for the rest of the stuff you have posted above, you can come up with stats like that for every Indian state, Punjab will say we are the best at some thing, Maharashtra will say they are good at other things. My original point was that TN was at the top end of all these matrices before the advent of Dravidian politics but now it is a failed state with stagnant growth and not much hope for the future.

Sadly @North Sea Tiger isn't wrong.

1. Both DMK and ADMK are big time crooks and they are completely destroying the state socially and economically. The strong self sustained small-medium business is the saving grace.

2. On paper, TN should be way ahead of other states in terms of infrastructure, but most of the cities are crippled, thanks to incompetent govt officials.

3. The educated tamil people, mostly are clueless. They fall easily to the the 'Tamil Nationalist' sentiments. So many politicians are still milking from the issue. And the social media is full of Lankan trolls. Look at Jallikattu protests. So many separatists infiltrated it on a sole purpose to spread Modi-Hindu hate mongering. Look at the reactions for the Modi's visit to Isha yoga tomorrow.

These are just few issues. There are lot bigger issues.

Exactly. TN has a lot of potential. The SMEs in TN is fantastic and on par with Gujarat - may it be the rice mills of the Kongu belt, the fire-works factories which almost supplies the whole country, the textile mills in Tirupur, poultry farming in Namakkal, Cement factories, etc are the saving grace of the state. My uncle owns rice mills and he is now in the process of moving his business entirely to Indonesia as he says its become impossible to run a business in TN mainly due to very erratic power supply but also due to various other issues. The DMK/ADMK govt has failed the state and its people to an extent where the youth are migrating to other states and even other countries. On paper TN has everything but in reality it is being overtaken by other states due to political incompetence.

we are still better than other states ..

we are not performing upto the potential , but other states like gujarat / maha too are doing worse..

some of my relatives who travels to gujarat / maha say that countrysides/villages of these states are far behind TN..
