Shastri needed this series win to stayon, they made mistakes in team selections in both tours in England and SA.But they were badly let down by their useless openers and Rahane.They back Pandya too much that was also a mistake.But unlike other teams this team was ready to try different things.

 

People were harping too much on results in England and SA forgetting how well they competed against much stronger teams in their back yards and  losing all those tosses.They needed little luck and one more batsman to compliment Kohli .

 

Shastri has been proven right, omitting Rahane was not a big deal in SA.Dropping Rahul for first test was again made into such huge headlines.They needed a selectors with proper vision to back them but this selection committee looks useless.
