Let's keep this discussion focused on the very definition and practice of India secularism. So a initial question could be is there a single definition or multiple definitions of it. But why exactly is it based on religion? Shouldn't secularism itself simply be defined that an individual can freely act in accordance to his/her own wishes and beliefs? Basically, is Secular =freedom of choice. And then what exactly does equality imply? Does secularism = equality? That is not at all practiced in India with laws such as reservations. You cannot seriously expect a guy who comes from a family that has been abused for centuries to have the same skills as a guy with better opportunities.
