What a spell from Starc!

Typical ICF. Hazelwood took 6 wickets including set Pujara but that was not as match winning because - speed guns....

But it was Starc who affected the collapse. Hazelwood too became a part of it. No one denying Hazelwood his credit but that Starc spell was awe-inspiring. Hazelwood himself bowled quick and accurate but without that Starc spell who knows if Rahane and Pujara could still have been batting.

Nobody is denying Hazelwood's bowling is a match winning spell. But until Starc came on and took 2 wickets in 2 balls India were in a comfortable position. Those 2 wickets changed everything and Hazelwood's not bowling slow either. He was bowling 140K's with great accuracy.

:facepalm:You couldn't be more clueless

No I am not clueless. It was a collective brain freeze by our batsmen after a great recovery that has put us in such a difficult position. All the dismissals today could have been avoided if we had been as determined as yesterday.

Starc's spell is being over rated here. Karun Nair's stupidity is making him look a lot better than what he is.

Facing inswinging 154k delivery first up is very difficult because batsmen wont be moving their feet much. He just got one bang on target. Nothing to do with batsman's stupidity.

The only real bad shot was from Yadav. Ashwin got a shooter which is very difficult to keep out. Pujara got one that bounced awkwardly from a length. It was not very easy to bat out there.

In this pitch you aren't supposed to drive, that too 1st ball from someone like Starc. Did you see Aussies driving in their innings?

Ashwin should have tried to defend it instead of driving, that too after a 4 the previous ball. Pujara's was a soft dismissal after playing so well. May be he panicked seeing the others losing their head. Ishant too drove a good length delivery, criminal on this pitch.

That's just his natural technique. You cant curb them too much. Maybe Aussies are better used to playing up and down deliveries as they are used to them in their conditions.

I agree with nair but ashwin had to go for runs.Nair is in form so he was overconfident.Hopefully he learns.

Hazlewood bowled 135 k  to 146 k too.  Average speed of 139 k.   Genuinely fast.

Hazelwood bowled at an avergae speed of 86 mph about 139K and quickest at 90 mph about 145K. That is as quick as Umesh and Ishant.

that ball to Ashwin went at ankle height. No way he could have done anything about it even if he had defended it.

Starc is always capable of taking wickets as he bowls full at pace but really nair should have been defending considering his first ball rather than going for a drive.

nair was late on the shot. He would have missed it even if he has just played a defensive shot.

what brain freeze?. Rahane got a inswinging good delivery at 150KPH, Nair got hurried on 154KPH inswinging delivery that could trouble even the best of the batsmen. Pujara got awkward bounce on a low bounce pitch. Ashwin got a grubber that went at ankle height.
