That's just how sophisticated people walk

Gambhir doesn't speak to his high school coach either. Gambhir thought he was Lara with the bat and Curtly Ambrose with the ball. Coach told him to just focus on batting. Gambhir stormed out of the school in disgust, and never spoke to the coach again. He vowed that one day he would prove the coach wrong. Modern School (Barakhamba Road), Delhi.

India will Win 2027 ODI World Cup too - Michael Vaghun

In T20 they think that 250 is a good score (which it is). But in ODIs they think that 280 is a good score? -

Australia takes odi world cup my much more seriously -
IPL would have been fine had it not been for the world cup. But 2 more months of t20 is a bit too much. Not excited.

Gautam Gambhir: I don't really believe in data. I feel data is overrated
kosingh replied to sage's topic in Cricket Talk
Sounds like a school level cricket coach from the 1990s: you need 4 D's in cricket and data is not one of those. Determination, direction, drive, decision making. That breed of lazy thinkers is mostly gone from all levels of cricket. Well, almost... -
Gautam Gambhir: I don't really believe in data. I feel data is overrated
kosingh replied to sage's topic in Cricket Talk
There are analytical minds who do believe in data (Ashwin). There are analytical minds who don't believe in data (Warne). There are unanalytical minds who do believe in data (most English cricketers). And there are unanalytical minds who don't believe in data (Gambhir). -
The ladla culture is less with Virat gone (although we could certainly have used him in these games with 170-180 type totals)

Does this Indian team have desired cricketing IQ ?
kosingh replied to rangeelaraja's topic in Cricket Talk
Use left handed batsman against right arm bowler is the limit of this team under this coach when it comes to analytical thinking -
Gambhir was apparently the same way even as a five year old. One day, the teacher asked each child to sing their favorite nursery rhyme. Some chose Ba Ba Black Sheep. Others went with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. When it was little Gautam’s turn, he stood up straight, puffed out his chest, gave a sharp salute, and loudly began shouting the words to Vande Mataram.

The more compelling question for me is where I want to retire. I still have 25 years left to go. But retirement in the US doesn't sound all that great.

Missing Virat Kohli : We know the sun’s worth only in its absence
kosingh replied to rangeelaraja's topic in Cricket Talk
Yes, but batting 1st he would anchor the total to 170-180, which is not enough. Still, we could have used him in this WC. And the test team. -
More people seem to struggle with moving back from the US/Canada to India than other parts of the world to India.

I worked in a market research firm. Yes, non IT. I wouldn't say that "Sir" was required. That was simply the culture. This was the mid 2000s.

I returned to India after 10 years abroad. Adjusting to work culture was the hardest. I found it hard to refer to more senior work colleagues as "Sir" in India. That general culture of obsequiousness to authority was very uncomfortable. I have since left India again. I now live in the US. People tell me it's getting better with Gen Z Indians.

Is Abhishek Sharma is best T20 Batsman India has ever produced?
kosingh replied to KV244's topic in Cricket Talk
I doubt Pakistan does its homework better than any IPL team. After winning toss they can't even make the right decision whether they should bat or bowl. Abhishek will be fine.
