sandeep Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 A tangent discussion on another thread made me think of this question - Who is the best wicket-keeper in test cricket today? From a purely gloves perspective, I think Saha is easily the best. But he's nowhere near the best batsman among the keepers - Bairstow is the best on the batting front. Quentin De Kock I guess, is number one as a package. If Mushfiqur was still full-time wicket-keeper for the Bangles, I think he would be the next best test wicket-keeper right now. The rest of the pack are fairly middling - whether its Watling, Sarfraz, Wade - I don't even know who keeps wicket for the windies in tests right now. Dowrich? maniac Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Overall as a keeper bat QDK Couple of notches Bairstow Saha Mushfiqur(very underrated) Couple more notches Sarfaraz Walting Dorwich/Dickwala Wade Watch out for PJ Moor-Next Andy Flower but unfortunately due to ZIm's current status-will leave him unrated As a Pure keeper QDK Saha Walting Wade Not seen a lot of Dorwich or Dickewala but there used to be a Srilankan keeper Jayawardana(not the female Jaya) I think-was outstanding keeper but poor with the bat so will leave this space open. Chalks Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) Peter Nevill is a better 'keeper than Wade. But Aussie selectors prefer Mr "Nice, Garry" because he's allegedly a better batsman.
