Pakistan can beat England if they pick 3 spinners

Pak lacks in genuine batting options + already have additional bowling options... even Malik can bowl reasonable

Pak needs to play Shadab against England.   Need to fit him in.  And needs to lengthen the batting lineup.   I would bench Junaid and play Faheem as 3rd pacer.   Bring in the extra batsman.   Get Imad out since you will have Shadab + Hafeez and Shoaib for spin.

Dropping Azhar Ali can be a risk... Yeah he is slow but at least do ensure staying at wicket for a while...

(I feel they wont include Haris now anyways)

What is the point of staying on the wicket? Wasn't test championship scrapped by ICC?

Just who are these budding superstars that are being kept out?  I don't buy it.  I have yet to see a bonafide top drawer batting prospect from Pakistan in the last 10 years.  A guy who can really bat with proper technique and authority against quality bowling and score at a reasonable rate in white ball cricket.   Even Babar Azam, who to be fair, comes close to that, is a soft dismissal specialist.   You guys have no choice but to keep these 2 dinosaurs in your team.  In fact, Shoaib is the best ODI batsman in that unit.

Hussain Tallat, Aamir Yamin, Please follow recent domestic list A Performance.

Fakhar Zaman was at his peak in 2013, And he makes his debut for Pakistan in 2017, Likes of Hafeez, Azhar, Younis Khan have opened for Pakistan between these years heck even Imran Farhat. And you Can't say we caNnot get better ODI players than loosers like farhat, Hafeez and co

I'm sorry, Pak domestic performances can't be taken as indicator of international quality.  I don't want to get into the reasons since I'm sure you would know them already.  And Fakhar Zaman, good for him that he's scored a few runs, but he's not international class.

Why are Pakistanis always ready to believe that those who are not in the team are automatic superstars?  Maybe the reason you keep selecting incompetent old players, is because the others are equally bad?

pak's bowling has been working esp the pacers.  though they have won chasing..they'll be tested if put into bat first

Actually I would put it the other way. They haven't "won" while chasing, they stumbled and fell across the line :giggle:

Against SA they were lucky the rain arrived and they won due to D/L. Do you really imagine it would've been easy for Pak to reach 220 when they were 110 odd for 3 against the likes of Morkel, Rabada, Tahir and company? IMO ABDV erred by not bowling his main bowlers more as if he was thinking the match would go complete 50 overs when the forecast was clear about rain curtailing the match.

As for the match against SL we all saw what happened :hysterical: From 100 odd for 1 they sumbled to 160 odd for 7! And that to against a bowling lineup with 3 bowlers!!! If SL had taken any of their 5 chances or managed 1 of the numerous runouts it would've been a different story.

So I think batting first against Pakistan and asking them to chase is the best option coz their batsmen can't handle pressure of the chase.

yeah though unless you put up 320+, chasing teams have had an advantage so far. win toss and chase has been the motto for the last few games.  pak's best chance is to let the opposition bat first and restrict them to below 250.  if they bat first, game could be over in the first innings itself.   you can say they've been winning without their batting clicking at all

Against Pakistan I would say put up 260-280 on board and watch them struggle. Batting first gives their batting midgets to bat without pressure which may help them so batting first against Pakistan is a much better option.
