It looks like the team will travel directly from England to Windies.

Some changes

Rayuddu for Jadhav

Ishant for Umesh

Image result for msk prasad

Hope its not true. Shardul is on stand-by so he will probably play instead of Ishant.

News is KL might make a comeback only for the SL series

How come u dropped dhoni

Why wouldn't I?  I've been wanting to audition Dhoni's replacement since the Florida T20?  Before that game, not after.

There is only one t20 game , he shud be replaced in t20 not ODI's

IF KLR is still out, I guess the silver lining is that Rahane's inclusion won't cost as much.

Rahane

Pant

Pandey

Jadhav

Hardik Pandya

Vijay Shankar

Axar Patel

Kuldeep

Chahal

Nathu

Sangwan

Jadhav and Hardik have to get more chances higher up the order asap.   I have a feeling that Jadhav with his instinctive gap hitting will really excel at batting in the middle overs - 10 to 40 overs, with only 4 outfielders.

And we need to identify and groom JadejaNext for ODIs well ahead of the 2019 WC.  Whether that's Axar or Krunal.   Playing one of these guys along with Axar/Hardik gives us quality balance in the team.

He can be rested for the Windies ODIs.   Even though he is not replaced right away, this tour is a good opportunity to audition Pant and Samson.  Samson, I feel is more of a top order conventional bat than a pure power hitter like Pant - who can either open or slot in nicely at #6.  Based on that, I would give Pant the first shot.

Not even looking forward to this series unless a team of all debutants are sent over.

I mean Afghanistan is giving this WI team a run for its money.

Boring series

PAnt can play as a bastman alone

Dnt see any reason why dhoni needs rest, he doesnt play test and doesnt deserve a spot in t20

Samson i still feels needs to score in domestic to earn his spots, never in favour of gifting national caps. National caps shud be earned, pant scored everywere

Also there has to be an experienced player around any youngster wud learn more with having them around. Gr8 to have someone like Dhoni around who is very good with small details of the game . He is gr8 guy to be around yougsters.

Boring series

No point sending all youngsters, they have to play along some seniors to learn and gain experience . Wi still have some match winners and sending a very young team is not even safe and right. Again national caps shudnt be gifted that easy.

Working with a senior player only makes these guys learn how to prep before game and what to do in crucial situations. Most imp to learn the diff btw A-tours n international tours

Few youngsters shud be send with some experienced players

Like pant- he has earned it by scoring everywere and looks special

Kuldeep - Looks someone with x-factor

krunal n shankar- utility players we need

Rajpoot, nathu- kind of bowler we shud look to add variety in attack

My lineup doesn't gift Samson a national cap - but he's worthy of a squad spot.  And definitely a candidate for eventual Dhoni replacement.

Dhoni may not play a lot of cricket, but he played a full IPL season and CT.  And its not about what's good for Dhoni.  Its about what's good for the team.  Clock is ticking, and I want the Indian team to give the next wicket-keeper a realistic chance at being ready.  If you don't give them chances until 6 months before WC, then you can always argue that you don't want to throw in someone inexperienced into a WC.

I am talking about my interest as a viewer...poor pitches and poor team...total mismatch...very boring series

Rahane, Jadhav, Hardik Pandya have been with the Senior team long enough to adopt game prep and all that.  Plus the coaching staff are there as well.  Don't overplay this "senior" player nonsense. This is not the Pakistan team.

If we can send the likes of Faiz Fazal etc to Zim, we can surely send this type of team to WI.   You just don't want Dhoni benched, maybe you are hoping he picks up a few decent scores against pathetic WI.

Maniac on his usual once a month cycle of talking sense.

Not sure if India are playing in Guyana this time around - that track is not poor anymore.  They relaid the pitch and its a proper belter now.  320 par type of wicket.   Rest are quite slow, QPO being the biggest disappointment.

For dhoni also its good to play cricket regulalry and thats how he can improve his short comings

We are already trying pant , how many keeper wud we need even when dhoni retires . There are A-tours and dhoni isnt going anywere till 2 yrs

Same here i want to try new keepers including kishen as well  but again not in bulk

Samson domestic was poor, ipl was really good. Even kishen had good domestic n IPL . IMO he has dropped in order when it comes to pant, kishen n samson.....again by opinion

With Pant there is another thing i want in this team someone who can smaash from word go in top order. Samson still looks more conventional a spot where he ll have a lot of competition even if he does well

Neways our opinion wnt even matter in few days as selectors will give it a middle finger in few days with a high chance of sending karthik

Rahane who doesnt even deserve a place

Jadhav whose place and utility will and shud come in question after CT

Pandya who is still finding his feet

Ofcourse seniors player things is really important- watch interviews of most gr8 player and they ll tell the value

Still there is a huge diff btw zimb n wi, not as a team but wi still has match winners

I dnt see a reason to bench dhoni, wud have still thought about it had domesrtic cricket been going on. It very important to give him game time as well. Neither is Zimb tour ......we cud easily bench him their .

Resting kohli, umesh, jadeja makes sense but dhoni no .....he doesnt have tough season of test ahead . During his captaincy days when his workload was heavy their were more reason to bench him then now

Its not about Dhoni.  Its about giving the next group of guys an opportunity.  Team India's interest supersede Dhoni's.  There's always a time in the latter half of a player's career where the team's interests don't always align with the player's.   Put the team first.   I'm repeatedly accused here on ICF for defending Dhoni.  And I will continue to do so.   But not when it hurts the team.
