tweaker Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Team India will travel to the Caribbean to play 5 ODI's and 1 T20 match, just days after the end of Champions Trophy in England. India will play their first ODI match against West Indies on June 23 at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. Who should be in the squad for the Windies series. I don't think this selection committee is going to take risks & select some youngsters in the squad

I am sure he will be picked as he has already played for India in t20s. Like I said, there are many whom I forgot to mention. Probabaly I can come up with a bigger list but just not needed. Want at least 4-5 of them to get picked at least. Don't want a full youth team which goes there and lose, but would like good number of them picked in the roster. Pant should be surely there and may be used as opener.

Pant and Raina could be tried in middle order coz Uv and dhoni are in there twilight.. Don't think he'll last till 2019. Jadav is a poor fielder. Need to identify an explosive finisher at #6 too. Then we need a back up keeper-batsman too. Apart from those, need to groom a wrist spinner, a seamer, preferably left arm seamer (Is there any?) for variety. The names you have mentioned above, I'll add Thakur and Pant. We have to give a chance to HOODA. He was the most impressive youngster until IPL. He did not have the best of IPL 2017 or was the most popular player, but doesn't mean he did not do anything in the last few years. His stats have been brilliant as a hitter in the last few seasons. There is a reason why he was picked recently for A sides and nearly got selected for Indian team. We need to try him. We did the same with Jadhav and never gave him chance. This guy Hooda has hit 50 ball hundred earlier this season and has played numerous other knocks which are worth mentioning. Let them play for India and let them struggle. We still have 2 full years for the 2019 world cup so a struggle now will be better than a player struggling 9 months before world cup and leaving us in a big dilemma of picking the final 15. He is ready to play for India.
